Film & TV 2D Fighters vs 3D Fighters

Which fighters do you prefer better? the traditional good ol 2d fighters (ex: street fighters, darkstalkers most capcom fighters etc.) or 3d fighters (tekken, virtua fighter, soul calibur , dead or alive etc.)

imo i prefer the 2d fighters a bit better. To me the 3d games get boring after a while and especially when the 2d fighters make the transition to 3d fighters (mortal kombat deception) its just not as fun as its 2d counterparts.

Ill take games like street fighter alpha 3 and marvel vs capcom 2 over tekken and soul calibur. Dont get me wrong tho i like 3d fighters..but to me they arent as fun as most of the 2d games

hell i still say most of the old sonic games on genesis were better than the 3d ones

2D fighters were the shit!!

Really, Street Fighter & Mortal Kombat series in 2D were phenomenal.

tekken 5 = best fighting ive played so far

too many boundaries with 2d fighters, you cant do shit, with 3d fighters like tekken you can doge side step, kick people against walls

plus all old 2d fighting games just had a small set of moves for each character, in 3d fighters the charecters have dozens of diffrerent moves, can perform a different attack or throw from what position they are facing the opponent

dunno but guilty gear x2 surpasses any fighting game ever made so far, the game engine is so sick, there are unlimited combos to pull off, u can power up so u finish someone in 1 hit, the special effects are amazing, the only thing is it only has 23 characters, i think the people that made guilty gear x should have the rights to street fighter, knowing them they would push the limits,more effects, more speed, more characters, more levels, capcom is fucking up every new street fighter game they put up, all this "Vs" shit is annoying, all they gotta do is give it to sammy(the people that made guilty gear)and i bet if they use the same creativity that they used for guilty gear the game would be classic.

Yea it's called technological advancement. Obvious the 3D games are gonna be better, but comon tell me you don't miss the days of Ken Vs Ryu on street fighter??
