Aron I told ya :p With Wave which also packs a SAMOLED screen (but a smaller one) I could unlock my phone just to stare at the screen for the first few days after I got it.

But yeah, bloatware sucks. I would say that carrier bloatware is much worse than Samsung bloatware. Actually some Samsung apps are pretty good - for example the music player or file explorer.
However you should look for a good unbranded ROM.

So I just spent 10 minutes in Best Buy playing around with the Motorola XOOM.

The verdict? It's fucking awesome. Android 3.0 is everything I had hoped and more. It took me a couple of minutes to get used to everything and where everything was located but once I had it sussed, I was flipping through different apps, multi-tasking panes, just flying through everything. It's fast as hell - at least as responsive as an iPad if not more so.... the new stack widgets work incredibly well, the tablet version of the Market and YouTube look fucking amazing, Maps is a whole new beast on a screen this size, the whole thing is just a joy to use. I want one hella bad right now.

I already found a software problem with my phone. I exchanged it for a new one and it has the same problem lol. Just gonna wait for an OTA fix, hopefully I can get a ROM on here before then and not have to worry

There is Applanet, and i think BlackDroid(?) forums. With Applanet, its hard to get hold of if you havent all ready got it. You have to register at the site (applanet.net) and download the newest version, but I can never get the download to work properly. So I have to google the latest version for a link. This can be annoying as some times there is manual updates, but for the most part it updates itself. Just have nothing else on applanet on autoupdate. I some how manage to fuck up my G1 like that (Had to reflash the rom to fix it). Also, if you're gonna install bootleg apps, get some antivirus, im running NetQin on my defy.

so does anyone use any other anti-virus softwares. i thought that this was not really needed for android just yet (rememebering when norton for android was released and had no real use). then come to think of it, there have been certain exploits within the last year.

Ive had dodgy apps mess up my G1, to the point I had to reflash my phone. I know it was the apps cos when I view the comments for them on Applanet, every one was the same "THIS SHIT FUCKED UP MY PHONE"

It's quite easy to hack an Android phone, especially easy when rooted since that's when you can remotely do just anything. Still not many people bother to do so as most potentially dangerous things still require user's confirmation so for example it's a tough challenge to write an app that would make a phone send messages in the background without user acknowledging that. Now if it comes to data safety that's a different story since "stealing" your data that you store on your phone is extremely easy, since that's what you have to allow most apps to do anyway. Usually it's nothing sensitive though, unless you store your passwords as your contacts etc.
I believe that Sense UI and Samsung's new phones have built in security but I might be wrong.

Why have I never seen that bottom bird before? I'm on level 5-3 and I havent seen it yet.

Anyway, major problems with CM7. I can't make a call. When I put the phone to my ears, it hangs up and then the signal goes away. It seems to be an issue with the proximity sensor. Gonna try and fix it, but if I can't I'll have to go back to CM6, which is lame because I really dig Gingerbread.
