One of our Verizon Wireless sources has dropped a whole bunch of info in our laps. We’re talking intimate details of Verizon Wireless’ plans for the rest of 2010, 2011 and even some 2012 plans. Android tablets, LTE MiFi units, Android 3.0, video conferencing, and a whole lot more. Read on for the full details!

In addition to the Motorola DROID and Motorola DROID X, we’re told Motorola will launch a new DROID handset, the Motorola DROID Pro. It is supposed to have a 1.3GHz CPU, 4″ screen and global roaming capabilities. Estimated launch of November 2010

Motorola is working with Verizon on a “slab form-factor” device that sort of looks like an old Motorola Q but features a full touchscreen and global roaming. It will run Android 2.2. Maybe this will be a lower cost, MOTOBLUR handset?

There are a lot more Android invasions happening before the end of the year, we’re told. This includes a global Android device from both Samsung and HTC.

Samsung is working on a 7″ screen Android tablet with front-facing camera. Motorola is also working on a tablet as well, except it will sport a 10″ screen, either 1GHz or 1.3GHz CPU, front-facing camera, and Android 3.0. Don’t expect the Motorola so soon though, as we’re informed that while the launch was supposed to happen in December, Android 3.0 will probably hold up the release of that device and we should expect it around February 2011.

Verizon Wireless is aiming and on track to have at least 75% of the country covered in LTE coverage by April 2012

There will be a Novatel LTE MiFi device available in January or February that will apparently support up to 10 simultaneous Wi-Fi users.

Lastly, we’re told LTE data pricing will stick at $59.99/month, though it’s unclear what the data allowance will be.

Regardless of whether an iPhone comes to Verizon Wireless anytime soon, it’s obviously clear they aren’t slowing down with their huge Android push. With LTE coming up, and a major stable of high-performance smartphones, it seems like Verizon has positioned themselves to win. We’ll see how the end of the year and 2011 shape up before making any concrete judgements, though. Did we get anyone excited?

DroidPro in November - EXACTLY the time frame I've been saying all along. Would have liked to have seen a 4.3" screen, but 4" is plenty big enough for me. As I said back in January - this model will essentially be the "Nexus Two" altho it won't be marketed that way. THIS device is the reason that Sanjay Jha was present and onstage at the original N1 conference.

I never expected the DroidPad to launch this year - next Feb is kinda the time-frame that I had in my head. Assuming Apple go with a yearly release model for the iPad the same way they do with the iPhone, this will pit the DroidPad head-to-head with the iPad 2 - and with Android 3.0 on board, I think it's pretty clear who the winner will be

Got my Milestone yesterday.... SOOOO much better than the backflip. I dont know if its 2.1 over 1.5 or the fact the Milestone has no Moto bloat ware, but wow, the experience is just so much more cooler. The device is great too. I think Ill order a Milestone 2 when a GSM version is released. Solid build quality too.

One thing I miss so much from my use on the Backflip was it had a widget that lets you update your Twitter and Facebook statues at the same time, or if you want select one or the other, this was very cool and handy and time saving, all inside one app/widget. Anyone know if I can get something like that from the Android Market?

You said you didn't want "Moto's bloatware" yet the feature you are looking for is part of Moto's custom UI, MOTOBLUR. The Droid/MS don't have it but it may still be available on a ROM if you root.

Ask Casey if the Milestone can run ROMS or if the bootloader is being a bitch still. I'm not sure where the MS stands with that.

yea the milestone is pretty much identical to the droid, but usage of boot screens are different, more restrictive. im sure there is a way round it though.

Yeah, I don't think they've been able to unlock the bootloader as of yet. But apparently there is a way of loading some ROMs (only ones that are based on the offiical Milestone ROM) via ADB.

I don't know too much about it though.

As for a combined FriendStream-type widget, I'm not too sure... I personally have both the Facebook and Twitter widgets on one of my home screens.

there is always the option of enabling the twitter or yakket application on the full facebook site to create a tweet-sync. you would then be able to use twitter to sync it to facebook. there is a facebook api for twitter which allows you to submit a status to sync to and show up in twitter.

I just feel Motorola phones will be pointless if you can't root and put custom ROMs on there. I don't care how fast the phone is already stock.

That doesn't make sense. You'll still need a BB device for 3G? But the tablet is running Android? Why doesn't RIM just submit themselves to Android and just start running Android on BB-looking devices? The mobile OS wars are heating up and teaming up with the underdog that's quickly rising wouldn't be a bad idea.

There is going to be an R2-D2 edition of the Droid2! I'm not even a big Star Wars fan (think i've only seen 2 of the 6), but this is still pretty cool.

Also, there's gonna be a Google Mobile press conf on the 12th - 2 days from now. Last time they did something like this it was to announce Google Navigation, so it's sure to be something good!

You said you didn't want "Moto's bloatware" yet the feature you are looking for is part of Moto's custom UI, MOTOBLUR. The Droid/MS don't have it but it may still be available on a ROM if you root.

Ask Casey if the Milestone can run ROMS or if the bootloader is being a bitch still. I'm not sure where the MS stands with that.

It's not a custom UI or bloatware, it is a widget. The bloatware are other apps installed. This is just a widget.

But then ALL facebook goes two twitter or you can do vice versa, but I like to choose what goes to what or if both go to it. For me facebook and twitter are two different things with two totally different posting habits.
