I used to not care so much about physical keyboards on phones since I thought I could handle the touch screen.
Well, I made do with a touch screen and its cons for eight months and I gotta say the physical keyboard is now my favorite thing about my Droid. I'm much more accurate with it. I don't think I've spelled a completely different word when typing on it, unlike with the Eris.
I had a physical keyboard on my phone prior to the Eris. It was the LG EnV and it was great. The phone was small although the keyboard was adequate. I thought with the Droid I'd be clunky. It's not. Holding the phone in my hand instead of in my pocket isn't a big deal. And even if it is in my pocket, it's not all that much more heavy than the Eris.
I love this thing. Just feel duped by the Linpack scores and how someone may have cheated to get 74 MFLOPS. That's what I was going for. Or at least 30. Turns out most people max out at 1.2 Ghz on 2.2 at about 18 or so. Not the 30 I was hoping for. Oh well.
