Any thoughts? Do you guys care? What do you think about latest actions taken by Kim Jong-il and relations between N.Korea and N.America?
Anybody worried?

Funny thing is that I live by the North Korean embassy (and from what I remember there are only 4 or 5 N.Korean embassies abroad) and that their ambassador here is Kim Pyong-il - Kim Jong-il's brother. I didn't know that it's his brother, I just found out yesterday. I sometimes see him going home. When I was little he offered Korean language courses in the embassy so I always thought that he's a nice guy.
Personally while I'm well aware of the situation in North Korea I think that these guys are more than power-hungry pseudo-communists.

North Korea is gonna nuke the shit out of south Korea, then someone's gonna nuke the shit out of North Korea, and after a few back and forths like that, someone is gonna stand up and say "enough of this foolishness". Then, it will turn into a regular war. I'm just glad I failed boot camp.

I wonder how long would it take for China, Russia and South Korea to fully invade N.Korea.
I guess less than a few weeks (or hours if nukes are in play). And it's annoying that Koreans want to "scare" the world.

Kim Jong Il has, uh, something, forgot what it was, but he could be dead soon.

Which is good, since I'd wager the North Koreans are probably the most opressed people on the planet (not counting minorities).

I just hope the power vaccuum is filled by someone(s) with more brains than brawn.

Listen, those in power in North Korea are soulless despots. Period. There's no excusing them for cruising around in Benzes and sleeping on the feathers of a million sparrows when their people starve to death daily.

^ Im sure they cant go anyworse then him, but then again history tells us, they always somehow arise
They can. Look at his son who is supposed to be their leader after Kim dies. He's a power hungry alcoholic and rapist if I remember correctly.

Kim said that his other son who was supposed to replace him is a pussy :p

If North Korea has fully functioning nuclear weapons, then who is going to invade them? No-one. The risk is suddenly too great. Which is good strategy for them when you think about it, they are weak, vulnerable and have no allies. They fear for their regime and fear invasion, so why not build a bomb... now the most powerful nations have reason to fear them. It evens up the playing field from North Koreas perspective.

I dont know if they are power-hungry. I think they just want to maintain the status quo as far as the regime's control of the nation is concerned. Power-hungry makes it seem as though they want to take over the world or something. Seems to me they fear losing control of the state through invasion so they sought to prevent that happening. Good old deterrence theory.
