I've been playing MGS aswell.

I have a new project underway. Gonna buy an old xbox, install a software mod and upgrade it to a 500GB HDD. The softmod has like 58 working emulators including a Playstation one. Ill also be able to rip xbox games and play them from the hdd. Its gonna a be the ultimate console. Thats until some one does the same thing with the 360.

Yup what you could do with the original Xbox was awesome. A friend had a modded shit like that and lived close to my old high school so we'd go there on the lunch break and eat pizza and play snes roms.

Is your ps3 still under warranty? Why dont you send it in to sony so they can fix it. If not then you can probably get somebody to fix it. It's actually a real simple fix that you can probably fix yourself. Just buy yourself a new lens off of ebay for around $60 and replace it yourself.

Didn't really consider warranty lol, but yeah, it's not like i tried to stick a disc in sideways or anything. I did nothing to warrant it to stop working.

And if warranty doesn't cover it, thanks on that ebay advice :thumb:

i know a few people whos PS3 stopped working shortly after they got it. Same with the xbox although i have only read about it in the case of the xbox.

As DP said you should be able to get that repaired easily.

fix it. It's not not hard to do and if you can't it can be done cheaply.

What is this game all about btw? Gore, blood and killing?

The game is amazing...finished it on the medium level then started playing it on veteran..veteran is so much better!! The zombies come out of everywhere! Was about halfway through the game again when my ps3 stopped reading discs as well. My warranty was up as I have had the ps3 for more than 1 year. However, if you bought your ps3 with a credit card you get 1 year over the original warranty. Can't wait to get the ps3 back...if you don't have a warranty it costs 150$ to get it fixed by a service center. Sony did a great job at avoiding the bad press that the xbox360 got with faulty machines..because there are tons of ps3's that have this problem and the stupid controllers always break.

So its worth getting then? I still have a 50$ best buy gift cert from Christmas and I'm trying to decide between this, Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, and Sacred 2.
