I think the same but appearently for some people it's fun. My first thoughts about Wii was "what the fuck is this wack device with a psx like graphics and simple childish games". From my observations it seems to entertain people for a few hours untill they start realising how lame it is. It's not a console - it's a toy.

not to mention all the Nintendo fanboys out there
Fangirls :D

But the Wii is great for occasional gamers like me. I don't play RPG or Sports game. Hell I play Mario Kart Wii and Wii Sports once in a while. So for that it's cheap and doesn't take much space.

Also the Wii is more family oriented, more group oriented. RPG suck on it. It's an all-age console.

I have a 360 too but I never play it. Okay rarely. Games like Sonic or Rockband or Guitar Hero.

Wii is great for when you're pissed with a group of friends. I play Wii sports all the time. True its not a console in comparisons to the playstation or xbox legacy, nor its fellow nintendo predecessors.

It's success is based on the fact that it appeals to more than just people who play video games. Hell, my dad bought one. That just goes to show. But I like it, I play Mario Kart Wii quite a bit and will probably pick up the new House Of The Dead game that's out.

Thats exactly it, it's not designed for hardcore gamers and it's never been marketed as such so i fail to see why people get so pissed off over it.

^^Did you have SNES? I know the SNES was more popular in the USA but in Europe and especially UK and Ireland, the Megadrive(Genesis) was the one most people had. I sold mine a few years ago for 30 euros. I wish i didnt though.

Dreamcast was the shit. Genesis also.

It was just bad business. I hear that Genesis are slowly making a rebound and are thinking about releasing a new console.

^^You mean Sega? i doubt they will release a new console anytime soon.

Sega made some crazy decisions back through the years especially with the Saturn.

I know they've been developing games as of late, and have been doing quite well. They have a joint deal with GearBox software, who make great PC games specifically.
