There's real talk of this. What do you think about it? Smart or dumb move by the AFA?

Has Maradona done ANY coaching work up to now?

He has been made Argentina manager hasnt he?

^^he has done a bit. He managed Racing Club and some other team in Argentina. Didnt do well at either. I think he harldy ever showed up for one of the jobs lol

But he seems to have sorted his life out now. Id love to see him too. Im a massive Maradona fan. The greatest player ever. Im not sure how he will do as manager though.

Some players do an amazing job as managers in the future, others, horrible.

Maradona, it will be hard to say. I think he can maybe bring something new to the table. The man has lived an amazing career, and was something out of this world, and imo, changed the face of football like many in the past have (Pele, Cruyff, etc).

Like Bobby said though, he seems to be getting his life in order, and finding his role as what he should do now that he's not the player anymore.

One thing though, imagine the how the players will feel. THE Diego Maradona is managing them, they will want to impress him, and will do anything to get that 'nod of appreciation' from him. I know I would be giving 200% if my football hero was training me.

I say give the man a chance.

No reason why he cant do well provided he stays away from cocaine lol.

He has to take a leaf out of Roy Keane's book as well. He cant be as outspoken as he normally is nor can he criticize players in public.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now. I have no real idea of his coaching abilities, or for that matter, his overall football vision!

I know I'm jumping to conclusions a bit, but i find it almost hard to imagine that a man with such playing style and technique ever thought about positional defensive play. Or how to defend outwards (out of the box) right after a deflected corner.

Maybe he proves me wrong. We'll see. He'll definitely give the whole side a morale boost, that's for sure.

I can almost imagine him coming onto the pitch in a tracksuit doing a little dance, "life is life" blasting out of his ipod, then going up to the assistent manager and asking "soooo...what do you guys usually do when the other team is, like, about to score or get dangerous or something?"

I wonder what he will do with the Riquelme situation. He loves Riquelme as I do (maybe even more :)) but he needs to find another way of playing if Riquelme isn't performing.

I don't think he should risk tarnishing his legendary status incase he makes a major mistake, saying that I could probably manage Argentina.

^^i dunno about that. I have watched Argentina alot recently and they havent been impressive. Their defense is poor and as thuggy said, if Riquelme is missing, they tend to struggle a bit.

Maradonaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

How sick is that? Best name in the world. Nobody has more cooler name in the planet. Nobody.

Apparently he has a problem with Messi calling him arrogant or some shit because he doesn't play for national team that much? Dunno this is what BBC reported.

I picked Argie to win 2010 with or without Maradona.

Yeah, Defensivly they are all over the place. Heinze is such an erratic defender and makes the simplest of mistakes.

Well good luck to Maradona, interesting to see what he might change. Apparently the likes of Zanetti and Cambiaso might be dropped altogether.

Cambiasso is so over-rated

Cambiasso does his job. Thats about it, no need for both Mascharano and Cambiasso in there. Lucho should get more caps.

^^that other guy for Porto should get more caps as well. Lisandro Lopez. He is a good striker.

One player he might steer clear of is Zabaleta. I havent been impressed with him and he was poor enough today as well.
