Technology faulty touchpad - advice needed

Is there an alternative button on a keyboard for a 'right click' button on a laptop touchpad?

I spilled some soda pop on my laptop today, and for a while none of the buttons worked (left/right). After a while the left one started to work again, but I am still left without use of the right one. I was well pissed off, trying to use my computer without the touchpad, looking for other ways to navigate my computer, I sense there are ways of doing what I want with my computer without the touchpad, but not to my knowledge.

Anyways, I have arranged to have my laptop picked up and serviced under warranty, but don't like the idea of being without my laptop for more than a day. I could buy a mouse, or take my laptop apart and clean the insides from the soda residue that is probably interfering with the circuits, anything to stop my laptop being taken away.

Any ideas/suggestions as to what I should do, are laptops easy to take apart?

problem solved, I bought a mouse. The button still doesn't work though. I tried uninstalling the driver then restarting the computer thought that might do it but, no

Don't attempt to take it apart yourself, a) this will DEFINITELY void your warranty, b) even people that know how to build a PC from scratch get confused by laptops.

Also how did you manage to get this done under warranty? Warranties are there to protect you if the item is faulty, your right click not working because you spilt soda on it is NOT a fault. Or did you taken a warranty with accidental damage?

i did get it fixed under warranty. the only reason i considered taking my laptop apart is that i didn't want to be away from my laptop while it was away being fixed. all is ok now, the mouse i bought did work. the touchpad has been replaced and my laptop is now in 100% working order. a few days without my computer seems a lot, i am glad i got it fixed and went about it through the warranty. i dont know if it was the soda that caused the fault, all i know is thats the only time i ever spilt something on it. the left click stopped working at first, but started working again. strange thing is i prefer using the mouse now. i am still learning about my computer, thats why i was wondering if there was an alternative button to my right click on the keyboard. caesar wanted me to post up an article and i couldnt because my touchpad wasnt working. its the second time i have had a fault with my laptop since i bought it in feb this year. i leave it on all the time for hours, when i am sleeping for example. guess i neglect it in that way
