I noticed there is no topic on it. Since all of us residing in Canada will have to be heading to the polls in October.

Who will you be voting for?
Who do you think will take it?
Will Harper get the majority this time around?
Do you hate the PQ as much as me? lol.

Probably voting liberal even though my riding is dominated by the NDP.

I think the conservatives will win a majority unless they fuck up somehow. I dislike all the leaders right now, especially Stephan Dion, he really needs to grow some balls and hit harper hard.

What I don't understand is why the Bloc can take part in federal elections when all they care about is one province, they're allowed to be a part of debates yet parties such as Green are not.

The Bloc should have been dismantled a long time ago. They use the same bullshit argument to give them votes. "Our language is under attack." Either way, outside of Montreal, most people in Quebec seem to be leaning on voting for the Conservatives... while on the island, its a Liberal stronghold for the most part.

As for Stephane Dion, not much to say... You're right that he needs to grow some balls. His Carbon Tax is bullshit also; the corporations get less taxed than commoners. Um...ya, cause we pollute the most, right? lol

I'm personally voting for NDP. Layton came to my university a while back. I like his ideas.

What bothers me is that it has become a process in which people feel the need to vote for Liberals just to keep Harper from taking a majority. Lord knows what Harper would do then if he did get it...

I'll be voting NDP, and yes I think Harper is going to win it with a majority. Like you guys said before me, Dion is just such a bitch.

Personally I like the ideas of the NDP, but I don't think they're fiscally responsible enough to pull them off. I would like to see our country keep its surplus to pay off national debt (which is about 800 billion i think?). Also, anyone else think that Jack Layton looks like the Video Professor that sells computer CDs on TV?

I hate the green parties stance on nuclear energy. It's the cleanest energy we can get right now other than hydro and we can make a LOT of energy since we're basically the Saudi Arabia of uranium. We can just dig a huge hole into the rockies and put all the spent fuel in there.

Out of all the leaders, Layton is the most Charismatic, that's for sure.
Harper is just some creepy bastard, and Dion is a wussy.
Layton at least speaks English and French without a problem. Better yet, he's a Montrealer. :D

It's gonna be an odd election. Most people I've talked to said they've never felt so confused about who to choose. NDP seems like the most logical choice out of them all. Unless you want the Green Party to succeed, but then again, some would see that as throwing a vote away.

Dion.
Harper.
Yes.
Not hate, but find it useless.

Personally I'm voting for Dion. I would have rather had Ignatieff as the leader of the Liberal party but I'll still stick by the Liberal party. I like their ideas. NDP aren't fiscally responsible enough.

As for the Bloc Quebecois, they should have been dismantled a long time ago, but hey it gives them a good paycheck to stay there and do nothing. They are bullshit and will never be able to do anything concrete.

As for the Conservatives... where do I start. From tying to make abortion criminal, to cutting the cultural industry's subventions, to promoting censure, to making Canada's economy weaker, I don't know what else to say. I fear a Conservative win by majority. They are going to bring us 40 years back.

The issues are the alternatives the population has. NDP? Liberal? BQ? NDP has a good leader but I'm not sure about their financial plan. Liberal has a weak leader, but a good plan behind them. BQ has a good leader but fuck even if they win seats they will never do something for Canada or Quebec.

Well they are Conservatives, isn't that their point? To turn back to a time where things were good? lol.

Ignatieff would have been the better leader of the Liberals, but I didn't agree with him wanting to extend the Tour of Duty in Afghanistan.

Anyone hear the NDP's plan to tax 50 BIL$ (correct me if I'm wrong) from Corporations? Interesting enough if you ask me.

Lets see how the debate goes in a few days. I want to laugh at Duceppe. lol

The problem was Ignatieff was he returned to canada after 20 something years and ran to be leader of a major political party, it would have probably been bad PR wise (Harper would be using a "He's out of touch!" attack on him). All three liberal candidates were bad imo, Bob Rae ruined Ontario, Stephane Dion is a mouse, and Ignatieff hasn't been in Canada in awhile. They need another round of leaders to come forth.

Omg, forgot about Bob Rae. LOL. What a douche he was.

Eventually (Hopefully), Justin Trudeau will step up. He's just slowly getting his feet into it for now though.

Yeah, I know. It's much more interesting. Even May of Green Party had a few jabs.

Overall, best guy at the round table was Duceppe, followed by Dion/Layton, then May.

The worst by far, Harper. He made a fool out of himself, and that fucking smirk he had all night made him look like an arrogant schmuck.

Layton won tonight IMO. He even shut Dion up in 1 occasion. May was meh.
Duceppe cracks me up. " I won't become a prime minister but neither will some of you" LOL
