Injuries ruin a lot of players careers. Worst one I've seen is Zlatan Bajramovic, and it's not because he's Bosnian but because Schalke brought him in because they couldn't buy Heargreaves. He started off as an absolute fucking beast as a DM for FCS and he got injured, didn't play for 15 months, came back for Bosnia against Belgium, scored a goal, played a few games for Frankfurt and got injured again. He's back now. He's a fucking awesome player. A Gattuso...

Laursen, Eduardo and Bajramovic are among the unluckiest players I've seen...

I'll say Chelsea and Utd are going to be fighting over the Championship. Liverpool will continue their poor domestic run. Arsenal is a bit young and will struggle. No one will penetrate the top 4, although a few teams may get close. Newcastle will be fighting to avoid relegation if they don't get their act together. Spurs will suck the entire season if they don't buy a few goal scorers in the wintertransferperiod. Pavlyuchenko is a work mule, not a clinical finisher. Having sold the Bulgar and Keane they're really thin up front. Bent isn't brilliant. West Ham will have a good season. Despite Sandeep's hopes and dreams, Barry will leave Villa in the next transfer period and Villa will be so-so at the end of the season. Somewhere midtable.
Stoke will surprise a few sides. Sunderland will have a decent season as well.
Considering how this thread began, this really wasn't a bad preview of the season. Only doubtful prediction was the Liverpool one :D

i thought i posted about laursen in here. i am gutted, ruined my day with more bad news! well, £3m was worth the one great season he had with us in addition to the other games he played for us. statistically, when laursen started villa conceded far less goals. someone has a huge void to fill in in at centre-back.

i hope he comes back as a trainer or for some other role at the club, his knowledge and experience will be invaluable and great to help youngsters learn, develop and become leaders. i really appreciate what he's done for the club, he was also very involved with the acorns children's hospice and went to most if not all the events.

Well, Barry's still in Birmingham, Liverpool did better than I thought (and Chelsea did worse), but no one could foresee Keane getting sold back, lol.

What about Gomes, eh? I read he's suddenly in form. He may have found his groove. Can we finally agree he's a world class goalie? :)

well i know he is a good keeper from before he joined Spurs but World Class? I don't think so considering he hardly ever gets in the Brazil squad. He was awful against Man Utd recently as well but the errors haven't been as regular as the were at the start of the season.

^^I think Liverpool were the better team this season. We beat them twice and Chelsea twice. Only lost 2 games all season. Our two best players only started 12 games together this season. Torres missed most of the season and Gerrard missed alot as well. that's just my opinion on it. It doesnt matter though. they have the cup, thats all that matters. Man Utd scraped through with a 1 goal win in most of their games. that was the difference.
