08/09 Premier League thread.

^^who are you talking about? Richard Dunne? He should be a rugby player because he has a strong upper body?so Richards should play Rugby too? You are a idiot. Dunne is a fantastic player and has been for the last 10 years in the premiership. He is a perfect example of a model professional. He speaks very well and seems like an inteligent bloke with his head screwed on so i dunno why you say he has a low iq.
Speaks very well? What the hell are you talking about? What does speaking have to do with football you idiot?

I didn't say hes all that bad. Players who like as you put it "attack every ball that come to their direction'' are usually with low IQ football knowledge. Thats one of the basics you learn playing football that you shouldn't just attack any ball that comes to your direction and get rid off it as if it were a hot potato. Hence, why he scores so many own goals lol.

And hes physical appearance does not make him suitable for footballer. What I mean is that if you first look at his physical appearance, you wouldn't think hes a footballer. Whereas if you look at lets say somebody like Quaresma from Portugal or even Garrincha with his almost bended-like legs, you immediately think he is a footballer. This is beyond point because you could still be a great player regardless of your physical look, but I wanted to point out just because I admire more players who have this look.

Thats the thing about Dunne. He attacks every ball that comes towards him. Thats why has scored that many ogs
Lol Bobby i usually respect your opinions on football but thats the stupidest excuse i've heard. The majority of defenders attack every ball that comes in, Terry being the prime example and you don't see him scoring lots of OGs.

And also are you being serious when you say he's one of the best defenders in the premiership ?

id expect a rangers supporter to disagree.

all the pundits that agree that he is among the top defenders in the premiership are all wrong then. He is a 100 times better than the rubbish Scotland have anyway

and i said he was one of the best centre halves

Obviously Carragher, Ferdinand, Vidic, Terry and Carvalho are the best but the likes of Toure, Dunne, Distin, Gallas, Campbell, Upson, Richards, Laursen,Skrtel and Agger are the best of the rest.

So you think a defender should just stay and wait while a cross comes in and let the forward attack it first.Good defenders attack every ball when they have to and read the game well. Dunne does both very well. So what if he scored a few ogs in his long career. They are more unfortunate than anything. Tell me what he could have done different against Bolton. THe ball came across quick. He didnt get time to adjust himself and if he didnt knock it in, Davies behind him would have.

You said the man had low iq. You called him a douchebag. Yet alll the younger players at Man City look up to him.

His physical appearance is not suitable. Thats it for me. Say no more. you talk pure shit. So no football player should be built up? They should all be skinny little fucks like Nani and Quaresma.lmfao. Centre halfs are normally built up more than forwards and wingers. they need to be.

Its always the same with it comes to Irish footballers. Everyone dismisses them. I rememer reading posts here before that Paul Robinson was a better keeper than Shay Given. its typical.

Oh...read my post again. I don't want to be explaining myself what I mean.

Why dont Canavvaro or Terry or others score og's? They get rid off ball as well.

so carragher is not a top defender either is he?

Cannavaro have scored ogs in their career as well. lmao do you think that they have never put the ball in their own death?

Rio has got 5 own goals also. To help Bobby

I don't think Vidic has any and he puts his head everywhere. To help Bacho.

But some of Dunnes own goals are stupid, one was a ball over his head that just hit his foot and went past the keeper (maybe also keepers fault), another was a fucked up clearence he sliced into his own net against Man Utd.

Dunne is a good defender though... Bobby the pundits on Sky or whatever are idiots :thumb: theres only a few who have good balanced and intelligent opinions. I think people on this board would make better pundits lol :D

^^im not talking about just the ones on sky. i never watched football on sky until recently.

Every player makes mistakes. i agree that not all the ogs he scored were unfortunate but like you said Ferdinand has 5 as well. Carragher has 5.

Do you agree that Dunne is among the best centre halves in the premiership?

Remember the og from Lee Dixon where he lobbed Seaman with a back pass. That was hella stupid but it doesnt mean that Dixon was a bad player. He was one of the best full backs in the history of English football.

When you score a lot of og's like Dunne and Carragher then you have a problem.

I think you're just pushing little to far with your country mate.

This is how I rate the top defenders in the Premiership:

Carvalho
Vidic
Ferdinand

I don't even think John Terry is as good as people make out, he is too slow and gets turned easily, great in the air though.

I do agree Dunne is in the 2nd batch of defenders in the Premiership, not with the likes of Vidic etc though.

^^thats where i have him. not quite up there with those but amongst the better centre halves.

you know who is a shitty over-rated defender?

Kakhabar Kaladze :)

Note the difference.

Your initial post:
Dunne = 'among the best centre halves'

Now = 'amongst the better centre halves'

You fail at tying to squeeze in your mate among best centre halves.

well he is one of the best. Thats what i said and i will stick by it. I couldnt give 2 fucks about your opinion.

Dunne has been voted City's player of the year 5 or 6 years in a row.

He was Irish player of the year in 06 and 07.

"Ever since I’ve come to this club Richard has just been quality. I play with him week in, week out and I think he’s one of the best players I’ve played with. I’ve played with John Terry and Rio Ferdinand in the England squad but Richard is right up there with them."

Micah Richards

"I would agree that Richard is in the very top bracket of central defenders playing in the Premier League," he said.

"He can do everything. Richard is a good header of the ball, he is strong, he is a rather good passer when on the ball and is quick, quicker than you think.

"He has a lot of experience now at the top level. It would be nice to see what would happen if he was English though perhaps you should not say that to an Irishman! I think he would be a challenge to all the other central defenders."

Sven Goran Erikkson

Harry Redknapp was bending over backwards to bring him to Portsmouth last season. Martin O Neill at Villa likewise. Liverpool were interested in buying him last January before the signed Skrtel

but alas your opinion is worth more than all these people.

I have seen Dunne in action about 10 times. He was outstanding every time. My opinion is worth far more than a guy from Georgia who probably never been to a football match.

Contradiction, contradictions.

Got caught red handed. Busted.

I gives' 3 fucks about your opinion that is why I keep pressing you and tryna get a better understanding of your opinion.

I have shown in my posts that you are wrong. lets leave it at that.

Dunne is a good defender, not in the top five in the premier league though. Although I do think he gets overlooked somewhat by the English because he's Irish.
