Bah, fuck the yellow submarine.

Cmon Pao, get another 2.

Edit: Bayern 6 - 1 Sporting Lis.

lmao.

Edit again: Bayern 7 - 1 Sporting Lis... Ok, I feel bad now. lol

Haha that was embarassing by Lisbon.

Gotta feel sorry for Casillas, he made some amazing saves yet still conceaded 4 goals.

Good result for Villareal tonight, not many people go to Greece and win.

Juve-Chelsea was a great game from what i seen, good to see Essien back.

lawlawlawlawl at Lisbon. First time they were in the knockout stages...

Well done to Villarreal :thumb: two CL appearences in their history, 1 semi final and so far 1 quarter final.

Liverpool played great, why don't they play at that tempo in the league?

Well, thats it. Referee ruined the match. How lucky can you get as Liverpool =/
are you serious? score should have been 5-0 by that stage anyway. i guess it was pure luck that we hammered the shit out Real Madrid , despite missing our best player for the first leg lol (and Torres got injured early). Torres barely even touched Pepe for the first goal. How could he give a free out there? There can be no doubt that Liverpool deserved to win this game. You did see how Liverpool tore them apart right? As poor a team as Real are, Liverpool were outstanding especially in the first half. Some of the moves Torres and Gerrard put together in the first half were outstanding. Benitez was right. Liverpool never get their props in Europe. We get to two finals and a semi in 4 years and its all down to luck and poor football.

I dont understand why they dont approach league games against the likes of Stoke in this manner. Liverpool are well capable of playing good football.

Bayern Munich are looking pretty strong. There is a lot of big game players in that team.

Liverpool should play like that in their league games surely, Rafa is scared it seems in the league.

Anyway, all respect for Liverpool they played the best Ive seen them play in a long time, but I was watching the game and thinking, Real Madrid have been knocked out of the last 16 now what 4years in a row?

Do they need some sort of overhaul?

The likes of Cannavaro have been living on past glory for awhile now, Heinze was never the same player after his injury when he was at Utd still. Guti, Salgado are finished.

Marcelo isn't a left back, can't defend to save his life, Pepe although was awful today is a good defender, Metzelder? not good enough for me.

They need to sell or release the following:
Drenthe
Heinze
Cannavaro (he can join Napoli on a free or whatever)
Guti
Salgado
Saviola

They need to somehow get VDV in the team, Surely someone of his immense talent can do a great job for them :wondering:

They need another winger, Robben is good but not consistant.

Also, controversialy, it may be time for Raul to play a more bit part role...:wondering:

Base the team around
Casillas
Sergio Ramos
Lass
Sneijder

^^yea i agree. this is arguably the worst Real Madrid in history. This was their defeat in the history of the champions league and second worst in the European Cup. Their worst was a 5-0 loss to an amazing AC Milan side in 1989. I was confident that liverpool would beat them comfortably when the draw was made because i saw Roma (who are not a top European side) play them off the pitch and knock them out last season.

Raul did look a bit past it tonight but was up against a good defense. Higuain was a major disappointment. They were saying that he was Real Madrid's Messi recently. I have doubts about Gago being the next Redondo as well. They need a big overhaul in the summer. Maybe they will get ROnaldo this summer but he would be mad to leave for them.

Compare this team with the Real Madrid team of the early 00's lol

thats what i have been saying about Rafa. If he was more positive, Liverpool would have won alot more matches this season. They can play good football if they are let and encouraged. Maybe he will be more positive from now on.

Yeah Gago is nowhere near the level of Redondo, Redondo was actually pissed off at that comparison lmao

Higuain is a funny one, I never rated him at first, seemed a clumsy player with little technique but he improved alot, but has lost form abit, it's still early in his career though

I remember the Dutch players of Barca got blamed when they went through a bad patch in the early 00's..now it seems it may be the turn of the Madrid Dutchies

Hi Duke :)

i guess Gago is only 22 though. Redondo was playing with Tenerife when he was that age so maybe he can improve but Redondo was an outstanding player. Gago has alot of improving to do if he is to be as good as him.

Speaking of dutchies, Babel had a good game tonight. Its the best i have seen him play this season. Benayoun wasnt even in the squad. That was his reward for his good form and scoring in the last leg lol. Maybe he was injured. im not sure though.

Pool was much better indeed, but that wasn't my point. The reason it was still 0-0 was Casillas, lol. Then one very dubious decision and one blatant mistake and Liverpool is 2-0 up. Sure, Pool deserved two goals but like that? C'mon. It's a disgrace that in this modern day and age there are still mistakes like these that haunt the game.

Real was very poor, though. Never got back into the game. Sneyder was poor, I didn't even see Robben doing anything on the pitch, V/d Vaart did alright when he got subbed in imo.

Babel did well indeed. Gerrard was just first-rate as usual, pure animal. No real weak links in Pool tonight. I thought Reina was attentive to the few attempts that got his way. Kept his wits about. Also Mascherano, how can you not like his working spirit? Great vacuum cleaner type.

Bayern - Sporting = just lawl

Chelsea through..though I didnt think it'd be this tight. Juve made them work.

On the Real thing: Besides playing too many oldies maybe, I think they also overbought themselves. A lot of their good players tend to be fickle also, inconsistent bastards. Robben is notorious for this, but Sneyder was never a very consistent player either. V/d Vaart is better at that imo. But he played very poorly for a few months.

I wish Ramos all the luck in getting this leak above water, lawl. He's gonna need it.

And on Drenthe, he's good, the kid has potential, but he was hyped after the U-21 Euro's and by and large not yet ready for Real. Smart thing to do is maybe put him on loan.

^^id agree that it shouldnt have been a penalty but i dont think Torres fouled Pepe.I think that he was falling on the ground anyway while he trying to hook the ball away.

Real Madrid players didnt work hard enough at all. They were being closed down all over the pitch so they had no time on the ball.

Everytime Drenthe plats those Real Madrid supporters boo and jeer him. He played well in that game agaisnt Barca and they were still on his case after it. Maybe a move to another club would do him good.

Real Madrid were shite, take nothing away from Liverpool though they put in a quality performance.

Sporting Lisbon got spanked, one of the worst performances i've seen in the Champs league.

^I watch Sporting play a lot in the Portuguese championship and I have no idea which team they sided last night... They are really a good fucking team. They went through the group stages for a reason, but I have no clue what happened last night. My Sporting fans friends tell me that it's the coach who's the problem.

They beat Barca in the group stage didnt they? I expected Bayern to beat them but not like this lol. From what i have seen of them though, they have a lot of lightweights in their team and threw in the towel early. Bayern Munich are a good side and could be dark horses for the Champions League this season.

Bit paranoid about the Man United game, everyone's predicting a United win. 2-0 I hope.

Roma 1 Arsenal 1

Barcelona 1 - Lyon 0

Porto 2 - Atletico 1
