There are alien races well aware of us and our stage of development. We're not even close to the point where they'd want to make contact. We couldn't handle it. So they just study us...

what would happen if a government came out and said aliens do exist? would we all go into a state of panic? whats the big deal to cover it all up. personally id think it was cool, humbling in a way.

the bigger question is, how would the idiots take it? if some people don't like certain humans because of cultural differences, imagine the differences we'd have to another species from another planet. people would be so judgmental. for the sake of whatever species they might be, if peaceful, i sincerely hope we never make contact.

It would blow the minds of all the religious right. I mean the books say that god made humans, it never said anything about other life forms on other planets!

The Bible doesn't mention life on other planets, because we haven't found any. As soon as we do (if we do), then the Bible will miraculously have predicted it. I imagine there are plenty of Bible bashers poring over the Old Testament as we speak, trying to find a passage they can reinterpret in case there really is life on Mars.

Let me put it to you this way. If only one in a million stars have a planet around them, and of those only one in a million have life on them, then there are countless civilizations in the univers. Hell, make it one in ten million, one in a hundred million and there'd still be countless civilzations in the universe. Like i said before though, I think its just human egocentrism that makes people believe they'd visit our planet.
The fact that life on this planet was more than likely a complete accident makes it pretty rare such accidents have occurred as frequently as you mentioned, if at all. however, i'm not saying it's not possible.

What I will say, however, is that no aliens have visited this planet. People are retarded.

Given the laws of physics, life will automatically emerge from an inert chemical soup under the right conditions. No miracles, no stupendously improbable molecular accidents need be involved. Chemical self-organization can do the trick. Life is an expected, collectively self-organized property of catalytic polymers. In fact, a self-organizing progressive trend pervades the cosmos.

doesnt that trip u out? the magic and intelligence behind everything. the power of intention. the fact that everything is, simply because its intention is to exist and so it manifests existance

scientists have a hard time/task as it is, proving that life lives on other planets. Aliens are a fictional human concept. We are a long way off from making contact with other life forms from other planets, if our scientists cannot even prove that life exists on other planets. One must take into account the possibility that our planet is the only one in the entire solar system that gives home to life. My only criticism is - why are scientists looking for life on/from other planets, when life is right here on earth. Surely these type of scientists are missing some kind of spiritual lesson. Imagine what the usa would do if alien aircraft started descending on the whitehouse ... it wouldn't be a friendly greeting. Which brings me to government propaganda. Aliens belong in science fiction novels/movies, not in the media as uncertified speculation, tsk. Reading a media story is like reading a dan brown novel, it blends fact and fiction to create an interesting story, while creating controversy from the stories contrasting elements.

There are trillions of stars and an uncountable number of planets in the universe, the odds are that there are other life forms in the universe. Are they able to travel the galaxy and contact us? Big chance that they can't. But if we find life on other planets (or one with the ability to sustain life) it proves a lot of scientific theories and would broaden our knowledge of the universe.

what if they have been around for millions of years longer than us?

they could probably get here just by thinking about it they have worked so much out in that time.

also people that say they dont mention aliens in the bible, go read that again. lol.

That wouldn't mean that they can travel long distances in space. We have to factor in the chances of evolving into a highly intelligent being. Crocodiles have been around for millions of years but they have stayed the same (and relatively dumb)

Unless they somehow figured out how to travel faster than light it would take them a VERY long time to reach us. The milky way galaxy is 100,000 light years wide, the closest star is 4 light years away. We also have to factor in the amount of time that the aliens would have taken to scout out different systems in the universe to find life, then return home or send signals back to their home base to report on it.

Post the part of the bible that talks about aliens please.

That's what they want us to think. They are actually an alien race from Oberon II watching (and sometimes eating) us. They make crop circles with their tails and eviscerate cows with their teeth.
