Astronaut says aliens are real, have visted Earth

FORMER NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr Edgar Mitchell - a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission - has stunningly claimed aliens exist.
And he says extra-terrestrials have visited Earth on several occasions - but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for six decades.

Dr Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview that sources at the space agency who had had contact with aliens described the beings as 'little people who look strange to us.'

He said supposedly real-life ET's were similar to the traditional image of a small frame, large eyes and head.

Chillingly, he claimed our technology is "not nearly as sophisticated" as theirs and "had they been hostile", he warned "we would be been gone by now".

Dr Mitchell, along with with Apollo 14 commander Alan Shepard, holds the record for the longest ever moon walk, at nine hours and 17 minutes following their 1971 mission.

"I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we've been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomena is real," Dr Mitchell said.

"It's been well covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it's leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it.

"I've been in military and intelligence circles, who know that beneath the surface of what has been public knowledge, yes - we have been visited. Reading the papers recently, it's been happening quite a bit."

Dr Mitchell, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering and a Doctor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics claimed Roswell was real and similar alien visits continue to be investigated.

He told the astonished Kerrang! radio host Nick Margerrison: "This is really starting to open up. I think we're headed for real disclosure and some serious organisations are moving in that direction."

Mr Margerrison said: "I thought I'd stumbled on some sort of astronaut humour but he was absolutely serious that aliens are definitely out there and there's no debating it."

Officials from NASA, however, were quick to play the comments down.

In a statement, a spokesman said: "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe.

'Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue.'

i dunno, maybe he has lost the plot. i find it hard to believe that it has taken all this time for him to come out about it.

Yeah I saw this today. I think he's just a bit on a crazy side, but noone can be 100% sure. It would just be stupid if what he said was true. There's internet, phone, digital cameras etc. and people live basically everywhere so we would get info about aliens on a daily basis.

Mitchell has been a student of paranormal phenomena and consciousness-related studies for a long time. So am I. The trouble is that there is so much information out there that it's hard to sift the fiction from the plausible, and even a smart individual like Mitchell can buy into things that are a bit unlikely and to which there is no proof.

And he's not just coming out with this. He's believed it for a while. Remember, this wasn't a news conference or anything. He just might not have been so open about it in such a popular forum before, so it's getting some play.

Here's some things he said at a conference in 1997:

"Most of the people in government (in 1997) were not in government when I retired twenty five years ago, they are younger people. The files going back fifty years just no longer exist. They've either been purged, compromised or whatever. They don't exist. So when we blame government for not being forthright, they really don't have anything to be forthright about, at least at that level. Now, somewhere there's knowledgeable people, and Steven has ferreted out quite a few of them. And in my own efforts in talking with these folks, and talking with government, the question often comes up as to how they could have kept this a secret for so long. And friends, they haven't. It's been around us all the time, but it has been denied, and obscured."

"Now for my own experience, I have had no first hand experience like so many of you. I have not encountered a UFO, and we did not have them trailing us as far as we know, going to the moon. We didn't meet anyone on the moon. We did it just like we said we did. For the last twenty-five years we have dealt with the issue of, on one hand, the flat-earthers who said, 'you didn't go anywhere, it was all filmed out here in the desert,' and on the other hand, another fringe that said, 'yes you have been there, but you were followed. You were in contact with UFOs. There were beings on the moon that you met and had contact with.' Well, that's not true either. So, we have walked between these two extremes of misinformation, disinformation and pure ignorance. We did what we said we did, and I want to assure you, from that period up until the current time, NASA was one of the organizations ignorant of this type of activity. And the prevailing wisdom in NASA (at-the-time) was that we didn't even think about it. It was a ridiculous idea that we would encounter beings on the moon.

However, in the last twenty-five years since that time, I became quite knowledgeable and became friends with Allan Hynek. I know and work with Jacques Vallee consistently now, and I have known the gentlemen on this stage, Bob Dean and Steven Greer for a few years. For me with all the evidence, it's not a matter of believing, it's a matter of the preponderance of evidence, and the evidence keeps building. The sightings keep happening. So it is clear that if they are ET, and I will question some of the sightings as to if they are ET, they are making their presence known. I also think that the prevalence in the modern era of so many events - the sightings, the continual mutilation events, the so-called abduction events - that we are looking at likely reversed engineered technology in the hands of humans that are not under government control or any type of high level control. I find that quite alarming."

I think it's true, aliens, ghosts and Cher all exist.
Cher is debatable.

I have had this argument numerous times, I think it is a bunch of bullshit, that was started from a guy on an acid trip. Other people, think that there is life on other planets. Life is possible, but i mean life to the extent of a plant or some cells, maybe some small animal like a worm or something. I just do not believe that there is life to the extent of little creepy e.t mother fuckers coming down and sticking cold metal rods up a farmers ass.

I don't think it's a coincidence that this is getting some attention around the time the new X-Files movie is opening.

Especially when Mitchell just happened to be a paid consultant on the X-Files TV show.

I have no doubt that aliens exist, but do you really believe a people so advanced that they can control the fabric of space and time would bother to visit a people who can't even control their own climate. Yes, maybe they are looking for a planet to harvest, but that raises the question of why we're still here

Our universe is so vast that it is completely plausible for there to be extra-terrestrial life, and for that life to be more advanced then we are. I'm not so elitist to think that we are the center of the universe. That being said, I still have issue with any people who tell me there is something above the mountains, something I can't see. I mean I think Alex Collier, a noted 'UFO contactee' who um apparently is in touch with 'a race of human looking beings from the Andromeda galaxy' is a crazy loon and watching interviews such as these
of his where he states in a very matter-of-fact way that the Adromendans 'they dont speak.... everything is a symbol there... the whole race is telephatic'. I mean he makes me nervous, what is any clear-headed, logical thinking person supposed to make of all that? But so he does go on to talk about this particular dimension of existence of life in which thought alone can create matter. Which strikes me as a very profound statement, but not in the way that Collier meant it. I think our mental faculties are capable of concepts as wide in scope as our universe, and so the possibilities are endless. And it's true that if in fact these beings exist there are beyond me, so who am I to make judgments about them? I don't know what to think really. It all just makes me nervous.

^im pretty certain aliens don't exist and if they do, they are so far away we'll never find them
Let me put it to you this way. If only one in a million stars have a planet around them, and of those only one in a million have life on them, then there are countless civilizations in the univers. Hell, make it one in ten million, one in a hundred million and there'd still be countless civilzations in the universe. Like i said before though, I think its just human egocentrism that makes people believe they'd visit our planet.
