Principles

#1
What principles do you hold, if any? And what do you base them on. Do you know yourself?

Principles can be founded on religion, ethics, morals, tradition, the occult, esoterics, mysticism, art (aesthetics), science, personal beliefs/causes, add yours here: ...

Principles can also be founded on greed, vanity, selfishness, jealousy, insecurities, hate, evil, ... the list goes on.

I believe in good principles, just like Confucious preached morals. Is the best example of principle.

i am a pacifist and a teetotaler--those are my two main principles. these are based on beliefs that i came up with on my own; even though i'm a spiritual man, and do adhere to some religious beliefs, most of my principles are not based on that.

i can delve deeper into my principles later if people would like to know more but, right now, it's night night time.

I am a pacifist, but I have the urge to be the fighter who doesn't fight. Like Bruce Lee said, his style is 'the art of fighting without fighting' or Sun Tzu 'the art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting'. Greats like these have principles that are based on paradox. I have yet to uncover the principles of paradox, contradiction, and duality in this sense.

What are you fighting?
Myself maybe, who knows. If in the case that I am fighting (for) something, as you ask, I want to know myself before I know what I am fighting against/for. Principles are major, they underline a persons agenda, beliefs, intentions, goals etc.

I am fighting for self-actualization, peak experiences, and spiritual insights to/on principles on which I hold.

My principals come from my religion and things that I have learned.....What i value most is to try and keep a balance between the material and spiritual aspects of my life, but it's better to be more on the spiritual side than material side....

some of my personal beliefs come from movies, tv shows, music, which in fact also have to do with religion in some sense.

i believe that if we can think something up...like lets say in the movies...take a look at the movie the matrix for example....

Man made movies. Mad made The Matrix. Man used his brain to make the movie the matrix. God created and gave man a brain. With God's infinite creations God can turn what we see in the movies into reality. it would only be realistic to think so because of his infinite power.

Stories are a good way to put across messages such as morals and principles. It is the main function of stories, like the saying 'the moral of the story is ...'. The Bible, Koran, Matrix are all stories that have some kind of message in them, be it ethical, moral, or principle. I put principles in a similar context to ethics/morals.
