Milan make Eto'o top target (Rumour/Speculation)

Milan have confirmed that signing Barcelona forward Samuel Eto'o will be their top priority in the transfer window.

The Rossoneri have been heavily linked with Eto'o's team-mate Ronaldinho but coach Carlo Ancelotti is looking more for an out-and-out striker.

However, rumours have suggested that Barca will only part with Eto'o for 50million euros (£40million) and Milan chief officer Adriano Galliani admits that may be too steep.

Speaking about Ancelotti's targets, Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport: "At the top of his wishes there is Eto'o, who is a pure striker.

"Surely we will negotiate also (about) Ronaldinho, but he's not a pure forward. I've told Carlo that president (Silvio) Belusconi will sacrifice but that we can't reach the 50million Barcelona have asked me (for).

"We can spend a lot of money but not this sum, it's foolishness."

Lehmann is heading to Stuutgart. I was hoping to see him at Borussia Dortmund.. then again, I can see why he's going to Stutt.

It's going to be extremely interesting to see how Mourinho takes charge at Inter. I can't wait to see them in action. Mourinho is the special one. :)

Gunners track Spanish duo (Rumour/Speculation)

Arsenal are believed to be keen on bringing Dani Guiza and Ruben de la Red to Emirates Stadium.

Mallorca striker Guiza finished the 2007/08 season as the Primera Liga's top scorer, bagging 27 goals in 37 appearances.

He is also rumoured to have attracted the interest of Barcelona and Valencia, and is likely to demand a transfer fee of around 15million euros (£11.8m).

Midfield star De la red has enjoyed a productive year at Getafe, but has recently seen Real Madrid take up the option to bring him back to Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite returning to the Spanish champions it is expected that an offer of around 12million euros (£9.4m) would tempt Los Blanco into a sale, a valuation which could also lure Tottenham into renewing their interest in the player.

Both Guiza and De la Red have been included in Spain's squad for Euro 2008 and could find themselves on the shopping list of a host of other clubs, should they succeed in transferring their impressive domestic form onto the international stage.

Stuttgart make Lehmann offer (Possible)

Bundesliga side Stuttgart are close to agreeing a deal to take Jens Lehmann back to his homeland.

The Germany international is set to end a five-year stay at Arsenal this summer when his contract expires and he is released as a free agent.

Stuttgart have led the race for his signature since it became apparent that he would not be offered a new contract at Emirates Stadium, and are believed to have now put an offer on the table.

Club chairman Erwin Staudt admits that the Reds cannot afford to match the wages Lehmann enjoyed in England, but is confident that the veteran shot-stopper will be on his way to Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion in the near future.

"This will hopefully be made concrete in the next few days," said Staudt.

"It is not a straightforward conversation, there are options to be discussed."

The 2007 Bundesliga champions are believed to have offered Lehmann two-thirds of his current salary with the Gunners, on a one-year deal which includes the option for an extension.

Villarreal still keen on Sol (Rumour/Speculation)

Villarreal are set to renew their interest in Sol Campbell should Martin Caceres leave this summer.

Uruguay international Caceres has become the latest transfer target for Barcelona and his departure would leave the Yellow Submarines short of defensive options.

With Manuel Pellegrini's men set for a return to UEFA Champions League action next season, their boss is aware that he can ill afford to see his squad numbers dwindle during the close season.

The club are yet to confirm that Portsmouth centre-half Campbell would be their preferred choice to marshal their defence next term, but they have previously expressed an interest in the England international.

Villarreal director Jose Manuel Llaneza admits that the club will look to bolster their backline over the coming weeks, but has refused to rule out the possibility of Caceres remaining at El Madrigal.

"Caceres is definitely in our plans for next season," he said.

"But if we reach an agreement with Barca then it becomes clear that the priority will be to reinforce our defence."

Red Devils agree Ramsey deal (Done Deal)

Manchester United have agreed a deal with Cardiff for 17-year-old midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

The talented teenager had also been chased by United's Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool, but will now complete a switch to Old Trafford.

Ramsay made 22 appearances for the Bluebirds in all competitions during the 2007/08 season, including a substitute showing in the FA Cup final defeat to Portsmouth.

He is already an established member of the Welsh Under-21 squad, with many expecting him to earn his first senior cap in the near future after he was an unused squad member for the recent trips to Iceland and Holland.

Ramsey will now undergo a medical with United and, subject to personal terms being agreed, will finalise his switch to the UEFA Champions League winners in the coming days.

A short statement on United's official website read: "Manchester United is delighted to announce it has agreed terms with Cardiff City for the transfer of Aaron Ramsey subject to terms being agreed and the player passing a medical."

United's offer is thought to be in the region of £4.5million, with the Red Devils prepared to loan the youngster back to Cardiff as part of the deal.

The Bluebirds were hoping to hold out for £5million, but have been tempted by the opportunity to bring Ramsey back to Ninian Park next season.

Liverpool were also understood to have favoured the loan agreement, but Sir Alex Ferguson has made the first move and landed his first signing of the summer.

Mutu in Schalke link (Rumour/Speculation)

Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu could be joining Bundesliga side Schalke in the summer.

According to a report in Bild, the Romanian is the subject of negotiations and would like to make the switch to the Veltins Arena.

Schalke team manager Andreas Muller is not prepared to meet Fiorentina's asking price of 16million euros (£12.6million) for the 29-year-old former Chelsea man.

However, it is understood that he has tabled a 10million euros (£7.9million) offer plus Denmark international striker Soren Larsen.

Bild claims that Mutu has already expressed his desire to join Schalke and his arrival would be an enormous boost to the Royal Blues as they attempt to assemble a squad capable of challenging for the title next season.

Rangers in Miller talks (Possible)

Derby have revealed that Kenny Miller could be set to make a controversial return to Rangers.

Miller moved to Pride Park from Rangers' fierce rivals Celtic last August but looks likely to leave Derby this summer following their relegation from the Premier League.

The Scotland striker admitted last week that he was keen to discuss a transfer with Rangers and Rams chairman Adam Pearson has now confirmed that talks have begun between the two clubs.

However, Pearson has stressed that a deal is a long way from being agreed.

"We've had early discussions with Rangers and talks are ongoing," Pearson told BBC Scotland.

"But there has been no asking price either set or met."

Unpopular

The prospect of Miller returning to Ibrox seven years after his departure has not been well received by a section of the Rangers support.

In the closing weeks of the season, Rangers fans voiced their displeasure about Miller with abusive chants.

David Edgar, spokesman for the Rangers Supporters' Trust, said: "Rangers fans in general would never tell any Rangers manager who to sign and certainly not Walter Smith.

"But the level of dissent shown by the supporters against a player who hasn't yet signed for us is unprecedented. I certainly haven't heard anything like it before.

"We were 2-0 up in a Scottish Cup final and the Rangers fans were singing against Miller - that is an indication of how strongly the fans feel about it.

"He is a deeply unpopular player and it is clear that the fans don't want him and I would say it is the vast majority rather than a minority who feel this way."

PSG keen on Thuram (Rumour/Speculation)

Paris St Germain are hoping to lure Lilian Thuram back to France this summer.

The veteran centre-half has spent the last 12 years abroad taking in spells with Parma, Juventus and Barcelona but could be tempted for one last challenge in Ligue 1.

The 36-year-old will be out of contract at Barca over the summer and PSG are keen to bolster their defence after enduring a dreadful 2007/08 campaign, in which they only narrowly avoided relegation from the French top flight.

Thuram is thought to be open to a move to the French capital and refused to rule out the possibility of joining Paul Le Guen's side when questioned ahead of his involvement in this summer's European Championship.

Possible

"We will have to wait and see where I go next season," he said.

"I may end my career at the end of the Euros, you never know. But I want to carry on playing.

"A return to France? Anything is still possible."

Makelele

Not content with attempting to lure one French legend to Parc des Princes, PSG are also believed to be keen on Chelsea's holding midfielder Claude Makelele.

The former Real Madrid man has only one year left to run on his contract at Stamford Bridge and the Parisians are hoping that the Blues will want to cash in on the 35-year-old while they still can.

One problem which could scupper PSG's ambitious plans is the fact that Thuram and Makelele would demand salaries which sit above the club's wage structure, and are unlikely to be willing to accept substantial reductions in income.

I suppose he could go on loan for a few years or until Scholesy retires. Midfield is one area United is dense, Carrick, Scholes, Hargreaves, Anderson, Fletcher, even O'Shea.
