NBA Playoffs

He was fouled, but hey, the foul didn't cost them the game. The Spurs played poorly throughout the game. The Lakers played pretty good defense and were a step ahead throughout the whole game. I mean, second chance points and offensive rebounds? Impressive. However, if you're a Spurs fan, yeah you're worried, you know the statistics of winning in this position. Still though, the Lakers played great and the Spurs didn't play very well aside from a good performance by Barry, solid free-throw shooting, and well, TD makes it do what it do. I'm saying, you shouldn't feel too bad about the next game. I see this series going to at least 6, but can't say anything more.

Joey Crawford gave the Spurs more calls than the Lakers, the fuck. I'm glad Pop said if he was the ref he wouldn't have called the foul, repsect due for being a man.

^He said it because he was mad at how his team played and didn't want them to make excuses for their loss. Smart coaching. Plus, he's a really, really humble guy. In all honesty, I expected him to say that. See, if Kobe was anything like Pop, he wouldn't have brushed off the posibility of it being a foul. But, Kobe is arrogant, unfunny, and asocial. But, hey, he's the best player in the NBA. Anyway, Poppovich doesn't try to be a smart ass or look for excuses, or try and insult someone. Oops, I just described Phil Jackson*.

EDouble, i agree on it being a good no call but he took a dribble away from the defender, and then after being hit he still moved some and then after fisher landed on the ground, barry took the shot. i dont think it would have counted if it went in as an and-one because i don't think continuation would have went into effect, so i don't think it should be three foul shots either.

sofi, for once, i completely agree with you. lakers played great, tim duncan quietly shined, like usual, and thats about it. manu had a terrible game, or maybe he's only had one good game lately. i don't think spurs can come into game five with enough heart to win it on the road... they're bleeding and just gonna die.

Pop did handle the questioning well, but I thought Brent Barry was ideal in his manner of handling the questions. He said it was good defense by Fisher, and that he wasn't arguing the call. That was really admirable, I like that about veterans.

even the nba said they made a mistake
Just like they made a mistake on the Tim Duncan travel, the fact that Derek Fishers shot hit the rim prior to Brent getting fouled. There was a lot of missed calls, thats sports for you. If the NBA is going to apologize for that call then they better start apologizing for all the series missed calls this playoffs.

Yeah, every other bullshit call or non-call went the Spurs' way and they still couldn't grab a lead. What happened at the end was pretty foul but meaningless.

At this point I think I hate every team still left in the playoffs. Sheed, Thibodeau, and Rondo are the only members of all of those organizations whose death at the hands of gang-raping jackrabbits I would be upset about, but then again, how can you be upset after saying the phrase "gang-raping jackrabbits?"

lol dont ya just love when a team someone hates wins, or a team someone loves loses?

its like, "oh my team lost, its not cuz they are all old, washed up, shades of their former selves and live only behind three good players... its cuz the lakers paid the refs!"

then i guess they didnt pay enough or they would have made some calls on the spurs.

Horry is the Biggest waste of space..yeah he was good like in ancient times but damn how many bricks and turnovers you gonna have..Im glad the Lakers are through now all i need is Boston to win and Its back to the 80's :D

nooo 3-2 to boston. detroit need 2 win both remaining fixtures! if boston go through to the finals i can still see the lakers as champions. however, if the pistons go through, i can see detroit as champions for 2008.

come on detroit!!

The format of the series really favors the road team, especially if they split the first two games, Interesting fact, the reason why NBA finals are 2-3-2 is because in the 80's when the lakers and Celtics where in almost every finals the press had a hard time flying from one end of the country to the other, so in the mid 80's the NBA changed the finals format to 2-3-2.

^Yep.

I just want the Lakers to lose. :)

Why are there 3 days between game 1 and game 2? Weird, don't you think?

Lakers in 7.

because having a game on sunday would draw a larger ratings boost...Sunday majority of people are home, not working.

i think the tv schedule could be better but oh well they wont change it.
