I was surprised Philly won, and Chris Paul for MVP, btw.

Gasol should not have dominated the way he did against the Nuggets' front court, shit annoyed me.

The Lakers can't play defense.

gasol is capable of dominating a game, especially when the other team doesnt play any defense, nuggets dont have that word in they dictionary.

^They played defense well in the first half of the season, since then, they have slacked off incredibly. Against the Nuggets, they did not play good defense. They had some stops though in the 3rd quarter, you could say.

I'm still sticking with the Wizards, Cleveland won at home, they're supposed to, Washingtons turn now. My heart is nearly torn with LA playing Denver but like Roaches I stick with the girl I grew up with so LA baby. Chris Paul is not MVP. Statistics do not explain what Kobe has and continues to do for LA. Pau's huge game wasn't just because of Pau. Putting Martin on Kobe leaves AI on small forwards leaving Camby do go help when they drive and yadda yadda. He creates without the ball, just by being on the floor. Lets not forget about the "hockey assist" either. He creates plays not necessarily shots, not like he can't create shots for other players either. Pau is having a career year cus of Kobe. Kobe also locks down players, no other MVp candidate but KG plays D like Kobe. Sorry but for me a steal does not equate to good D. Getting 2 or 3 steals a game is good but locking down players and keeping them from scoring for the whole game is a lot better. I don't see how you can hate on the Lakers D when playing one of the best offensive teams in the league. Denver can almost score at will, that's the only reason they're in teh playoffs. I really do hope they fire George Karl after this season. He said Coby Karl could have made the shots Pau was making, so fucking do something about it George. He did one good thing an benched JR Smith getting him to play really well as of late so do the god damn same to AI and Melo for only playing half the game. Tell AI to stop playing lanes and guard his man so Kenyon and Camby dont have to relatively guard to men when AI gets blown by. Melo plays D correctly hes just lazy it seems like. Stupid fucking Nuggets, why cant they be playin NO right now, after all there D is worse than the Lakers. I like NO too, this was just a lose lose playoffs for me. If the Lakers dont win the West I'll contemplate suicide.

Chris Paul is having a career year because of Kobe? The two events are independent, it makes no sense whatsoever. It is true that Kobe deserves MVP more than Chris Paul, but I'm just so impressed with the way Chris Paul is playing at such a young age and where he has gotten his team. Kobe is a veteran, MVP performances are expected from him.

As for the Lakers defense, I'm not hating, that's so stupid to say. I am simply saying that in this series, it's simply the better offense that won the game and will keep winning the games, not defense, or even a combination of two. I don't think the Lakers deserve a title playing defense the way they have and they will see that when they encounter a defensive team. It's that simple. Even Phil Jackson has said that the Lakers defense has gotten significantly worse as the season progressed.

What annoys me is how Lakers fans put the Lakers on the highest pedestal and every critique is hate.

I think there D has gotten worse like you said but it still isn't bad. I just wanted to point out that the Nuggets offense is good enough to make any team look like they play bad D, when therre offense is clicking of course, inconsistent ass team. So yeah, I expect greatness from this Lakers team of course Imma put em on a pedestal, I'm still a realist about it though. They have a good chance of winning the West, Utah will be tough and I expect in the finals it will either be the Suns or Spurs so it aint an easy road. Then the Celts probably. If they win this year it will be god damn amazing.

naw, when I mentioned the pedestal, I meant that perennially, Lakers fans have liked to believe that people dislike their team more than the people dislike other teams and that when the team is critiqued, it's always hate. Very condescending attitude on the part of the fans.
