It just seems like it is. It's been 4 years. I remember seeing numbers in the 100,000's and only 4,000 of those were US soldiers? Just seems crazy.
the death toll of iraqi's is an estimate, it is more close to about 100,000. it includes civilians, iraqi police and army numbers as well as a small portion of sunni and shite fighters and probably some fighters from other countries.
interesting thing about the u.s. soldiers death number. i was talking to a national guardsman who is a sgt. he was telling me that majority of the soldiers that died, as far as the army goes, were national guard and reservists. if you think about it, that would make sense. those people only train one weekend a month and two weeks a year. unlike the full time enlisted soldiers that train everyday. that training as a "part time solider" just isn't going to stick with you like it does for the full time enlisted soldiers. my dad would tell me how when he was early in his career as an E-2 or E-3 he would always have to teach the basics to guys in the guard who would forget everything and they would be an E-5 or E-6.
although, it is in complete contradiction of what report that came out today and he could have just been refering to my state
