MGS4 is ‘just over 29 hours’ long
The Metal Gear games have had a long history of criticisms in regards to their length. Often, even with watching all the cutscenes, the previous games could be beaten in about 8-12 hours. Rest assured, it seems MGS4 will not be following suit.
In an interview with GamesRadar, Paul Fitzpatrick, the writer who penned the world’s first MGS4 review, revealed that “29 hours and six minutes was my exact play-through time”. He also said about 2/3 was actual gameplay, the rest spent watching cut scenes and codec conversations. Fitzpatrick also told GR that while he “saw everything I felt I needed to see to really get the measure of the game”, there was also more he wished to go back to and uncover.
