Not possible man, you need Steam to play Counter Strike: Source. You need to install the Steam client onto your computer, then either purchase games in store or download them through steam (There is alot of games on steam, many classics also), many critisize it but I've never really had problems with it. Also, say you have Half Life 1 but the cd is fucked and don't have it installed on your pc, just put in the serial in steam and the game downloads. And you can take your collection of games with you whenever you can find a pc that you can install steam on that has a connection to the internet. I think I have paid for 3 games total and have about 20 that come with the games (Day Of Defeat, HL2 DM etc).

damn...ok...so its much easier to go out and buy the game? less installing of files and all that? i just buy the disc from the store and install it? i dont have to do any of the above if i just buy the counter strike disc and install?

Just go to steampowered dl steam, then load the game, which the latest version is source. Find a cd key and go ahead and play. That's the easiest way.

You can just re install it from steam, you don't need the disc.

If you registered the game all ready, which you must have done to play it in the first place, you don't need the key again. Like I said, its assigns the key to the steam account. Just log into steam and select install from the Not Installed list, the game should be listed in the "My Games" tab.

That because, as it has been stated several times in this thread, you can't download it, and as I explained several times in this thread, you have to have the registration key which can not bed used more than once. The only way is to buy it.
