Lampard is the first choice penalty taker, you can hardly argue with that. I don't like the cunt, but after the week he's had it takes balls to step up and put away a crucial penalty.
I think I would have preferred to face Liverpool, even though that meant the possibility of them winning a European title against us. Plus, Chelsea have shown that they can actually beat us.

Yeah it was maybe a little too much, but I consider that Liverpool plays better when they do not have to listen to what their coach has to say (As when they were losing 3-1, they were playing better than at 1-0).

Chelsea deserved their win. I think it would have been a little unjust if Liverpool scored again at the end.Too many poor players in the Liverpool team. Arbeloa, Kuyt, Pennant are just not good enough at this level. Its a mystery to me as to why Steve Finnan doenst play these days. Skrtel was a loss. Hyypia is pushing on a bit now and doesnt have the pace.
Essien was outstanding tonight. What a player. He should be in central midfield though. Drogba proved again that he is a big game player.
I think its time for Benitez to move on now. He is far too negative. Bringing off Torres was baffling, as was his decision to bring on Pennant and leave Kuyt on for the whole game.If i was Crouch i would move on in the summer if Benitez is still around.He is being treated badly.

I agree. When the game was 1-1, he should have taken off Kuyt and put Crouch or Babel up front alongside Torres. Chelsea were there for the taking at that stage. Of course Benitez would never do something like that.You will always pay the price if you take a negative approach to playing football.He was a coward.
