Portsmouth bought Muntari for 7 million.Man Utd could have bought him for that price to play in the defensive midfield position and he is stronger and is a better footballer than Hargreaves.Hargreaves isnt bad for this position but 18 million is too much for a player like this. You pay 18 million for a striker or a creative midfield player.I was too harsh on Hargreaves in previous posts because he isnt a bad player by any means.

You mentioned Makalele.I dont agree with Chelsea paying so much for him either because he is the most over rated player in the history of football.

As for Man Utd winning again next year.I doubt it.Im confident that Liverpool can win next season.

Luca Toni to Bayern has been confirmed for 11 MIL.
Crespo's loan has been extended.
Eric Abidal from Lyon is requesting a move to Barca.

There is talk that Barca will be moving their star youngster, Bojan Krkic.. I'm pretty surprised if that happens.

Chelsea paid £17m for Makelele in 2003, and he was 30 at the time. Was that a bad deal? Hargreaves is a top quality defensive midfielder and, contrary to what you think, he can do more than tackle when he needs to. He showed that against Portugal in the World Cup.
Real Madrid haven't won shit since Makalele left...

I remember when he left, they bought Beckham and Zidane said "Why put another golden layer on the Bentley when the whole engine is gone?"

Makalele is the best DM in the last decade...

And Hargreaves is really underestimated, but I hate the prick. Chosing England over Canada.

Yeah Barca won't do that lol... Krkic is fucking awesome... He's the next Spanish star...even if he's not really Spanish lol

And Abidal is a star in the making... I've seen him play for France against Bosnia... the dude is amazing as hell.

I dont agree with Real Madrid going down hill just because Makalele left.If you remember Fernando Hierro and Vicente Del Bosque left at the same time. They never replaced Hierro.Their weakest link was always at centre half until now.

Of course he isn't the only reason... But if you look him at chelsea, he is the "engine" that makes them play well. he sets the pace of the team... Well thats the job of a DM anyways...

Picking Canada over England would be admitting that you're a mediocre player who'd never make it into the England squad. It's like Rossi picking Italy over America, it shows he has ambition and doesn't want to pick the weaker country just so he can get some international caps. He could have played for Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland too. In fact, he wasn't too far from being eligible for Germany, since he'd lived there since he was 16.

^^ Ok... so if you were living in Brazil since you were 16 and you were English...you were eligible for both countries... you'd pick Brazil because they have tons of more chances to win the WC than England?...

I don't agree with you... there's more to playing internationaly than winning some International competitions... it's representing your country, where you come from and make YOUR country known...

The way I see it, he's a coward because he decided to be a part of something that's already proven than be a part of a team that makes your country known...

And you say that picking a smaller country makes you look as a mediocre player... I see it as someone who has enough pride in his country and does not want to satisfy his ego and his personal interests.

then again you come from England and I come from Bosnia so you don't really understand the point of view of smaller countries...

I would never choose Canada over Croatia, but thats just out of pride. Even if Croatia was a crap team, I would still pick em probably.

The only country I could choose over Bosnia-H. is Croatia...But I don't understand how you guys can be okay with the fact that some Congolese plays for France... I'm also tired of the freaking 'zilians playing for countries like Japan, Croatia, Korea, etc...

United have agreed a deal with Porto for their Brazilian youngster Anderson. To quote a Portuguese Liverpool fan from Xtratime, "This is disgusting. This guy is the biggest talent in Europe next to Messi. I hope he doesn't settle in England."

Apparently we've agreed a deal for Nani too. Sweet.

I see where you're coming from. A lot of players, like Didier Drogba, have snubbed bigger national teams to play for the country they were born in. And if it's about pride then I agree, but it's not always. Jason Euell was born in England, but he plays for Jamaica. Why? Probably because he couldn't get into the England team.

Nani and Anderson? what they haven't be bought yet..

Quaresma flopped at Barca as he was too young at that time..Riquelme flopped also coz they told him to play as a winger lol. Retards.

Quaresma apparently is linked to a whole host of clubs including, Chelsea, Inter and Man Utd.
