Jesus

There have been many topics discussing god and religion, with many different views expressed. But seeing that Christians believe Jesus the Nazarene was God, and muslims believe he was a prophet, and I think many buddhists believe he was a ''good man'', what is your belief on Jesus. Was he god? was he a prophet? was he neither? what do you think?

i think that the term "son of god" is taken too literally by many christians. i think he is the son of good the same way buddah, moses, or a local pastor of a church is the son of god. i do think he was a real person but i dont believe in the magic sperm knocking up marry.

Jesus was more than just "a good man" for buddhists, i think he was an enlghtened being, kind of like buddha

Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudef, a mystic master, once called Jesus the "most powerful buddha of all times", the term buddha being used to describe a level of higher consciousness. That kinda says it all.

i believe that he may have existed. but that he didnt have powers or some sort of magic. the bible is written in metaphores that are taken too litteraly by christians.

well i believe there was a Jesus, and i even believe most of the story of his crucifixion (minus the resurrection of course). i don't know if he believed he was the son of God, but i think people did believe he was, and after he was killed people just built this legend around him, making him almost a mythical being.

I think he might have certainly existed. I think his "godly" qualities were enhanced greatly in order to keep control via religion. He was probably just a good guy who lived right and had cool ideas. Or he didn't even have the ideas and the people decided to use him as a scapegoat for all of their ideas. I don't believe any of the miracles actually happened. I think most of the stories are intended to be used to inspire people to make their own decisions on how to live a "righteous" life.

Think philosopher and revolutionary, way ahead of his time. Was he the son of God?
He may or may not have been, but if you think about it. Isn't all of humanity referred as the sons of God.

yeah but jesus is alro referred as the messiah. but is he really? maybe he's simply the gandhi of his time. and gandhi didn't do any miracles.

I think they used the word Messiah metaphorically speaking. You know, like when we have a politician that comes into power who is great and people say: "Thank God he came into power, he is a messiah"

Maybe in those days, people we're looking for a big change and Jesus was that change with his new way of thinking.

If that makes any sense... lol
