Bruce lee Bowen?

Anybody who thinks hes not a dirty player they got problems.

This is what i think what Bowens problem is,i might be wrong though.I think hes dying to be heard and known and talked about around the league. He knows he can't be a superstar so what does he do.He plays dirty here and there and piss people off so than they have a reason to gossip about him.

That video is like 1 or 2 years old. Anyway, is Bruce dirty? Well, somehow he is..... but what I really wonder is how he can get away with so many lil things....u know, he plays great defense no doubt, but it seems like he is able 2 push etc more than anyone else, for example as soon as a player goes by him he always has a hand on them and the funny thing is, no one else seems to be allowed to play D that way..... does anyone agree?

I've noticed that too and I think it comes with his reputation, but also the reputation of his team. I don't know if you've noticed, but the refs let the Pistons and the Spurs play much tougher than they let other teams. Why? Because the Pistons and the Spurs are tough. Their defense does not arise from angry retaliations due to failed offensive plays. It's who they are. So, the refs know that Bowen is a great defender and have witnessed it over the years so they let him play his game. Aside from the bruce lee kicks here and there, he doesn't do anything that really obstructs the rules. However, you could argue it's borderline. Still, the main reason why he's labeled such a dirty player by scorers like Ray Allen and Kobe is that 78 games out of the season, Kobe and Ray face similar and mediocre defensive players, with some exceptions. Therefore, they are accustomed to what defense should be. When it comes to playing Bowen, they hit a concrete block.

Kobe has always had great success against Bowen though.

I don't recall that at all. I will look into it.

Well Kobe will always get his points, but Bowen does force him into bad shot selections at times.

I think what makes Bowen so great is his ability to get into others heads, not so much his tough nose defense. Because there are a lot of tough nosed defensive players in the NBA, Like Derek Fisher for one but Bowen has the whole mind thing going, Like Rick Fox and Doug Christie, Dennis Rodman, etc.
