i suffered from depression a while ago. you have to try to find out what gets you depressed and deal with it. i remember back then each time i could get alcohol i'd drink it. xmas two years ago i in 3 days i drank 3 bottles of wine on my own. you may say its not much, but for me its a lot considering i'm not a big drinker.

but basically you gotta keep yourself busy with things that aren't connected with that gets you depressed. maybe make changes in your life. it all depends why you are depressed. and everybody has their own way of dealing with it.

I had a depression about 2 years ago. It's rare with such a young people but I had it, I've been visiting psychologist because of my school efforts lol and by accident she found out that I suffer from deppresion. Of course school was my main problem. I've got high ambitions but I was a bad teenager lol. They threw me out of school (plus it was one of the worst schools in the city actually so it even crushed me more), I felt that everybody wanna diss me, I've been sitting at home most of the time, haven't been looking for a new school, lost all connections with my past friends etc. It was even worse because everything was going bad for me at that time. My gf cheated on me with my classmate, I got robbed 3 times in a short amount of time (I used to visit dangerous places etc. and that never happened to me before), my best friend became a fake fuck and then moved out of town.. I felt simply terrible. But the psychologist I've been going to gave me a chance to study in really nice school. After a failed year in my past school I decided to try that. I felt like it made me forget about everything bad. I'm having lessons for more than 9 hours everyday so I spent most of the time there. After school I started to train various sports. Everything combined helped me. Anyway I don't feel that good as i felt before depression but It's a good experience. Somehow I feel hate to what happened to me and try to avoid dangerous sittuations but it really changed me so it's a positive side. It really changed me to good. I'm a different, better person. And I'm much more curious now. Also I've got even higher ambitions to be someone big in my life and don't let other people to play me. I was always sensitive, maybe too sensitive. Girls always told me that I had perfect character. Now I'm not that soft as I was and keep most of thoughts to myself. Also I'm a damn good psychologist now :thumb: Anyway I kept a bad habit of staying at home too much. I became lazy :(

i usually have a depressive tendance, but i never fell into depression.

I think that you only can deal with it by yourself and no one can help you with it but yourself.

you can get advices from people, but if you don't put them in practice, it's just words.

S O F I said:
Were you clinically diagnosed, Carmi?
My process of being clinically diagnost invloved 10 minutes of me telling the guy how my life is what I'm dealing with and him telling me there's a reason for what I was feeling. He told me I may grow out of it or I may have to deal with for the rest of my life. Then he wrote me a prescription.

Maybe you'll find a root cause of the problem, maybe you wont. Sometimes people are just depressed. I think the best medicine for me was to keep my mind on other things. If weed is your problem then take it easy on it. If alcohol is your problem then don't get shit faced so much. If a girl is your problem then forget about her. Get out and be productive.

anti Depressants make you feel a whole lot worse before you feel better. So anyone who feels a little down, make sure you really need the pills before you start.

You need to find the cause of your depression and then work on that. If you are depressed and have no real reason, see a doctor. But being a little sad is not depression. Not sleeping ad not eating are good signs. (well... Bad signs)

here we go again...if youre a fucken kid, then you dont have depression. You just say you do cause apparnetly its cool to nowadays. Depression is when you cant get out of bed amongst other things.

If youre 15, 16, 17, then youre not depressed. fuck.

You make a point of sorts.

People do seem to think they are depressed if they are upset. Just because Liverpool lost the Champions League Final doesn't make you depressed... etc... ( <--- For Preach)

I'm 19. I always have a depressed mindset. I just can't see the point in anything at times, life seems a bit of a paradox. why am I dying to live, if I'm living to die? but..... I'm not actually clinically depressed at all, just not happy. bit deep. But won't slit my wrists over it. I don't come accross that way.

cut down on the sugar (i.e. The Pop, and Candy Bars). too much sugar affects the chemical balance of your brain. which makes you think differently.

also try to get as much sleep as possible. not enough sleep causes your brain to not function properly.

eat fruit and vegetables.

well if that kids clinically depressed, then ya, what i said doesnt apply to him/her, but the majority of kids out there who say they are depressed are just going through some gay teenage phase

There are A LOT of ppl suffering from depression. I think most ppl could benefit from cognitive behavioral therapy....

Cognitive-behavioral therapy is based on the idea that our thoughts
cause our feelings and behaviors, not external things, like people, situations,
and events. The benefit of this fact is that we can change the way we think to
feel / act better even if the situation does not change.
