Coronavirus

Anyone due for their booster shot as yet? I'm 10 months out from my second dose and probably needed it some time ago. I started my OB/Gyn clerkship and a few of the other students have gotten their boosters so I will get it soon, too. I just never thought about it even when they were being rolled out a few weeks ago. I figured it was more for at-risk people, over 65+, etc. but my dad got his from his hospital too.

Imagine getting COVID because someone queefed on your during an examination.

Also, my doctor is black, which would mean nothing if his entire office wasn't littered with African art and sculptures. There's some art piece that has a big hole in it and I'm 90% sure that's meant to represent a vagina. Or fertility, so yeah, a vagina.

In the hallway between his four exam rooms, he has a drawing/painting of MLK and his family on a couch. There is a statue on a table, also in the same hallway, of an African woman with her titties out. Party-hat-titties. Incredible.

Oh and the doctor has been on vacation the past two weeks so I won't see him until next week. Just a physician assistant and like 4 students seeing patients. Wanna guess her race?

Indian. Or Paki, not sure. But brown, hijab and all. lmao what a weird setup and not like anything I've seen before. Also, all the patients are black. Again, not a big deal but it's certainly like Little Africa once you walk in to the clinic.

I think these six weeks are going to pass by slowly. At least the students with me are really chill and understanding on my first day. Yeah, they're also black.

it is truly amazing how all these people who barely got through high school have now become scientists.
I find that correlation strange. It's like there is some kind of link between a poor education and trying to find comfort in conspiracy theories!

I'm double jabbed. Have been for ages. AstraZeneca. If I need a 3rd jab to travel, I'll get it. Likely to be pfizer.

If anyone is worried about the vaccine, don't bother. You're more likely to die from heart disease from your shitty American diet.

Yeah, I spoke to my colleagues today and they're giving the boosters without much fuss at basically every pharmacy like Walgreens or CVS. I didn't know this as I was assuming the initial rounds of the booster shot would rollout to high-risk people first via the tier system, much like the first and second doses did earlier this year. I had to provide proof from two people to get the shot at the hospital, my doctor and my clinical coordinator. My colleague told me he just walked in to a pharmacy yesterday and just got it. So I may do it this Friday so if I get a reaction I'll have a weekend to recover. I will get my flu shot probably a week after that. Don't want to get turbo-AIDS in case the COVID vaccine and flu vaccine decide to conspire against me, since that's totally how vaccines work.

Following up on my preceptor yesterday, I missed one painting that I noticed today. Black Jesus holding a child in his arms. Except Black Jesus looks like Will Smith. A colleague saw me looking at the painting and asked who Jesus looked like and without hesitation I said "Will Smith." Turns out he saw the resemblance too.

Also, a pharmaceutical rep brought lunch for the staff, but not for us students. I'm not salty about it but the staff had no issue ordering Red Lobster and filling the office with the smell of

“We’ve gone from 15 days to slow the spread to 3 jabs or lose your job.” - DeSantis
The virus behind the outbreak that began in Wuhan, China, was identified on Jan. 7. Less than a week later — on Jan. 13 — researchers at Moderna and the NIH had a proposed sequence for an mRNA vaccine against it, and, as the company wrote in government documents, “we mobilized toward clinical manufacture.” By Feb. 24, the team was shipping vials from a plant in Norwood, Mass., to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, in Bethesda, Md., for a planned clinical trial to test its safety.
Though sponsored by NIAID, the first-in-human experiment is taking place in Seattle, at the Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute. Researchers began recruitinghealthy volunteers in early March. Their plan is to enroll 45 people between 18 and 55, who will get two shots of Moderna’s investigational vaccine, about a month apart. For their trouble, participants will get $100 for each in-person study visit, for a total of $1,100.

Going on Monday for my booster shot. They're just giving them out, regardless of what demographic you're in.

I wasn't going to get a third vaccine. But all these anti vaxxer dickheads make me want to.

*Looks at the dickhead who posted above

I am a dickhead but I mean well most of the time!!

TB vaccine…. Check.

Study: TB Vaccine Linked to Lower Risk of Contracting COVID-19

https://www.cedars-sinai.org/newsroom/study-tb-vaccine-linked-to-lower-risk-of-contracting-covid-19/

My limited understanding is that different countries used different strains in the BCG vaccine - although inconclusive, data suggests that recipients of certain BCG may have lowered risk of Covid infection.

Just a theory but I’m the beneficiary of the theory so I go ahead!

I’ve thinking ever since the contaminated Moderna batches in Japan. Originally reported as dark metallic substance reacting to magnets. As far as I know there were couple of fatal reactions from the lot and vials were sent back to Big Pharma for testing! Later determined to be stainless steel contaminant from the manufacturing process.

It’s not uncommon to hear about pill recalls .. sometimes containing carcinogens! So it’s entirely possible that the poisonous characteristic of the jabs are limited to certain lots.

https://theexpose.uk/2021/10/31/100...ed-by-just-5-percent-of-the-batches-produced/

Here’s the kink - the wacky stuff like nanoparticles, Bluetooth, graphene oxide that are circulating - is it possible for these things to be introduced incrementally?

That’s my latest hypothesis.
