first off, happy birthday drose.

Dude deserves his own thread. What a phenomenal player before the injuries. His MVP season was the best individual player’s season I have ever watched. No injury can take that away from him.

08 Kobe had an amazing team around him. 07 Dirk has never been as fun to watch and Dallas was knocked out first round of the playoffs.

Rose single handedly ran the offence and lead the team to being the number 1 seed and taking them to the Eastern Conference finals only losing to Miami who won the championship.

I love AI so that’s a tough one. But looking at the stats of both seasons:

Rose 2011: PER 23.5, TS .550, WS 13.8, WS/48 .208, VORP 6.0

Iverson 2001: PER 24, TS .518, WS 11.8, WS/48 .190, VORP 5.1

I also think Rose made his teammates better; where as that is one part of AI’s game that always lacked.

rose had noah, deng, boozer, korver and bunch other solid role players.

iverson had little to no help on offensive end. can't improve teammates when they're lacking the ability.

are you going strictly by mvp seasons?

Yeah strict MVP seasons.

None of those players would have been good if it wasn’t for Rose. He elevated their game the way he ran the offence. It was amazing to watch. That season was just a “woah” season. I can’t explain it any other way. You just believed in Rose and that team. I honestly haven’t seen anything like that since, well, Jordan. You thought Rose would single handidly bring them back from being down by 20. And often he did.

boozer was an all star. korver was always a 3pt specialist. deng avg 19 a game before rose. noah always was a defensive stand out. you're acting like he had smush parker and kwame brown. iverson had it worse. iverson was surrounded by offensively challenged teammates. that sixers team might be one of the worst teams of all time to make it to the finals.

Boozer was an All Star in 08. Not 2011.

You want to talk about Noah being a defensive stand out? 76ers has Mutambo in his prime; he won defensive player of the year that season and they had the fifth ranked defence of the league. Aaron McKie was good. So were Hill and Lynch. And they also had Kukoc.

That team is actually criminally underrated. Larry Brown structured the team offence around AI but he had help and a hell of a defensive team around him.

boozer damn near put up 18 and 10 that season.

mutambo was 34-35 year olds at the time. he avg a whopping 11.7 points a game. great defensive player but provides little to no help on the offensive end. the sixers second leading scorer was theo ratliff... 12.4 a game. it's a problem when your second leading scorer is ratliff.

rose's bulls team were way more balanced than the 01 sixers. bulls were solid on both ends of the floor.
