Ronaldo moving to __________

I heard about this. What is the basketball equivalent? I would like to understand
LeBron moving to LA lol, sort of. So Juventus is easily the best team in Italy, and a top 5ish team in eurpoe. Ronaldo's former team Real Madrid is arguably the best team in Europe after winning the champions league 3 times in row which has never happened in this era and probably won't happen again anytime soon.

Champions league is the top teams in each individual league in Europe coming together for a tournament. It is the biggest yearly trophy in sports, bigger than the super bowl.

Anyway, Ronaldo is older but still performs at an incredibly high level, most people thought he'd stay at Madrid another year or two so this is quite the shock.

Now Ronaldo did go to a team that isn't as good as Madrid but I guess he feels it is time to move on. Now we see if he can prove himself in Italy while still aging which has been showing the past couple seasons.

This is a big if but if he is able to win some trophies and maybe a champions league trophy with Juventus that will be huge for his legacy. Many people put him and Messi at 1 and 2, lots of 1's going to Messi but Ronaldo has proven to perform well in 2 different countries(England and Spain), and has won a major title with Portugal. If he's able to do the same in Italy I think it puts him above Messi, I already do anyway, cus messi isn't proven anywhere but Barca, and sort of his national team. And the big knock now especially after this world cup is he can't perform without the Barca system and some of the greats he's played with.

I can go on more but France and Belgium are about to start

I literally just came to the "Lebron moving club" thread a couple of days ago for the first time in my life and said soccer crowds would act alike if it was about Ronaldo, Messi or Neymar. Now Ronaldo is moving to teh Italians.

I guess he's saving up for his retirement. Some outlets make it seem like a downgrade, yet apparently he'll be making a base salary of 35 million $ a year, up from 21 million he made at Real. Combined with the national team, wins the sponsorships and other revenue, he will be hitting 100 mil a year. A quick google shows that it's more than twice what Lebron and Kobe made at their peak, for the NBA crowds.

Money has never been an issue for soccer players, they make so much lol. Rumor is it that fucking Fiat group will be paying his salary. You want to see how money works in soccer look at the neymar buy from Barca. Neymarnpaid his own 200 whatever million buyout clause with oil money he got for pretty muchbeing a consultant, it's crazy.

My point is Ronaldo is rich already, this is his last major change in his career, I think it has a lot more to do with than just money, dude really cares about his place in history

Even though he's older, he's going to rip Serie A into piece. Serie A is a great league, but Italian footy is slower paced than La Liga. The guy's pace is going to be interesting to watch against Italian defending.

More so positioning. And we've been seeing it every time they knock out Juve. I don't think his scoring rate will drop at all
