Not about Apple, more about good things about their devices, just giving credit where it's due :p And I'm a fan of good cameras in smartphones too so by using Xperia Arc-ish camera module they did something right by my standards.

I will criticize the decision to use outdated design though. I wouldn't buy it if it was reasonably priced and running Android just for a silly reason that the display is too small for me now. But I can't deny the props for what looks like a good camera and decent hardware with great optimization.

I have a bigger screen and I have no problems reaching the opposite corner with one hand and my hands aren't big. I have trouble reaching the lower corner and that applies no matter how small the screen is.
Also, they could increase the screen size while not increasing the phone's size much. They could easily pack a 3,7inch screen in the very same body. Iphone 4 wastes a lot of space on its front.

Personally I think that the solution is as simple as not putting anything that you have to click with one hand often in the "out of reach" area. Android's user interface is made that way anyway - you don't have to click anything that isn't around the center of the screen, or in easy-to-reach areas.
The problem with Iphone is that we have a lot of phones with much bigger screens now, with much better designs and they are getting even bigger and what can I say, bigger screens are just much more awesome. And if Apple wants to keep the screen 3,5 inch then the least they should do is make the phone smaller/slimmer and look more modern.

I completely disagree that bigger screens are more awesome. That's why the HTC EVO sucks - the screen is too damn big. Fact. It looks like a brick.

The main issue with the design of the latest iPhone isn't that the design is outdated, in purely aesthetic terms. The material might be outdated or whatever, but the phone still looks beautiful. The issue is that we've come to expect design changes to phones with every hardware change. People feel cheated paying for a phone that looks the same but has improved software and hardware. I understand the concern. However, it's not like the iPhone 4 and now 4S looks like a 1997 Nokia. My Nexus S is of course sexier than the iPhone :) but I don't deem the iPhone ugly. I do deem older versions of the iPhone ugly and that's because they are...NOW. They weren't when it first came out.

HTC Evo sucks because it does look and feel like a brick and is heavy, and not because the screen is that big. Xperia Arc or even Galaxy S2 feel far better. Try using them and then switch to a 3,5 screen. It won't feel comfortable, I assure you. To me it feels like playing with a previous gen tech. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't feel comfortable with Samsung Note or Dell Streak 5 in my pocket, but Apple could easily go for 3,8-4 inch in a slimmer body.

Yeah I'm not saying that it's that ugly but to me Iphone 4 now looks worse than Iphone 3 a year ago, because of how awesome Android phones look these days. If you switch from your Nexus S to a new phone I'm sure that Iphone 4s will feel old to you too. Actually you have a Nexus S, so even a much newer Iphone 4S should feel a bit outdated to you too, since even Nexus S looks a bit more fresh despite being about as 'old' as Iphone 4.

To me the feeling is probably stronger because I thought that Iphone 4 design wasn't great at the very beginning - I had a Samsung s8500 Wave which was released at about the same time and it was a very well made phone, overall superior to Iphone 4 if it comes to hardware, build quality and imo design. Since then I upgraded phones twice and felt the leap forward. Now a new Iphone looks like the Iphone released last year, which to me is "2 phones ago" era so that really feels strange.

Well, you know Apple has claimed to be all about the user experience. Sometimes it may have nothing to do with hardware and maybe software and how its organized or what you can do with it. And I don't mean hacking, I mean having a home screen set the way you want it, etc. This varies from person to person and some may not even like it to begin with. So there's Android for that.

I feel Android is a lot like a PC OS with all the menus and customizable things. It's nice at first, but for those that really don't spend too much time on their phones, it turns into a gimmick, and can even be a hassle. A launcher here and an icon set there. But to constantly be worried about changing it up to break the monotony, or for any other reason, it can even be daunting to have every single nook and cranny customizable.

I know I don't have time, nor do I care to change things up on my Droid. I enjoy it the way it is since it does what it needs to do and does efficiently, i.e. no lag or force closes, etc. So changing ROMs and launchers, it's not for me right now, or not like how it used to be a few months ago.

Galaxy S2 has a 4.3" screen, it weighs next to nothing. It doesn't feel too big and I don't have any problem using it with one hand.

We see this in every walk of life. Who's cool at school the guy with good grades, or the idiot who is rude to his teachers and does fuck all? Unfortunately I was the later, but hope my son will be the former.

I feel like Pittsey matured at age 30. At 29, he was a huge dick. Then, he started posting more here. He read my posts. He lived happily ever after.

he read my posts, lmao.

I tried not having much of an opinion about Jobs, I recognize he was a very important part of the tech world but I don't know. One thing that bugs the fuck out of me is him saying he wanted a movie or whatever made about him because he wanted his kids to know who he was....what the fuck. What happened to being a father lol

Same camera module as Xperia Arc like I mentioned before (which is probably the best one any smartphone available in the US has at the moment), bigger battery is not significantly bigger at all though. To be honest if I had an Iphone 4 and the price difference wasn't big I'd sell it and upgrade to 4S just for the camera and a faster CPU/GPU is just an extra point. The camera is going to be good (unless they screw up the drivers which I doubt) and it's important to me. Hope we'll see more smartphones with great cameras now because that was my biggest problem when I was picking a new phone and that's why I ended up with Xperia Arc.

Cell phone cameras making point-and-shoot cameras obsolete? That might be the new frontier. They've already given alarm clocks, watches, and music players a run for their money. It'll be interesting to see how camera technology takes off soon.
