Not a date, but the Nexus Prime should get it first and then the S soon afterwards. So we're waiting on the Prime, then. Got a feeling that' be around the same time the N1 and NS were released, so the Holidays?

Is it me or is it either fake or looks almost like Gingerbread?
I read through some of the comments on there and it seems to be an early build. Supposedly the kernel is old and should be using Honeycomb's.

It's a reputable site and the author of the aarticle has taken to the comments section to dispel any rumors.

Why? I'm looking for an Android phone again mostly for the Skype app.
it took me ages to figure out how to sign out of the damn thing and even then its still running in the background i believe because everytime someone messages me or calls me on it, i automatically get signed into it. And video calls often end suddenly and sometimes i get signed out of it during a video call for some reason.

To me, in theory, the Skype app is pointless if you don't have a front facing camera. I also find FaceTime to be a better concept as it would absolutely suck ass to have to have people in my area using data to have six hour long conversations using Skype.

I really started loving Skype recently - the fact that I was able to call dozens of people in Canada from the other side of the globe and paid less than a dollar in total is amazing <3
I would've spent hundreds on my cell phone.
Also they fixed the lag, feels better than an international phone call.

What are the differences between Facetime and Skype, how does Facetime work then?

lol. fair enough im a noob and i should have figured that out sooner but its still not very obvious and that was just one criticism i had of it. it still good to have it ofc but it could have been better than it is.

HTC Holiday prototype shows up on Craigslist, gives us reason to celebrate

By Brad Molen

This isn't something you see up for sale on Craigslist every day, but what you see here may very well be a true-blue HTC Holiday. According to the XDA thread, the person responsible for the pictures noticed the device was being sold on the famous classified site, purchased it, and splattered the images online as evidence. Certainly, the resemblance to the render we saw in May is uncanny (minus the unfortunately cracked screen), and if the specs stay true to what was rumored at the time, we can expect to enjoy a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU with 1GB of RAM on a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540) display -- all confirmed by the screenshots -- as well as Android 2.3.4 and dual cameras consisting of an 8MP rear and 1.3MP front. The smartphone was rumored to be heading to AT&T's lineup, though no branding could be found. Either way, this particular dream machine is destined to turn more than a few heads. Check out the gallery below for a few more angles.

I could be wrong, but initially, Skype was only

1. for Verizon Wireless customers (root might have fixed that)
2. could only use 3G

Now, I could be wrong about 2, but I remember people complaining on Android Forums about lag and using up their data plan on a call. WiFi simply would not work. It is possible that it is the exact opposite.

Which is what FaceTime is. FaceTime can be used on an iPhone 4 and also on Macs. Possibly Windows too, but either way, it requires a specific download. It can only use WiFi, unless you are jailbroken. Then, I believe, it works fine over 3G.

Ah I remember now. It was 3G only for the Verizon version if I remember correctly. They had it a few weeks before it hit the Android Market for everyone. Also it was jewish enough to use minutes from your plan for local calls from Skype. I remember reading about it.

Google to acquire Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion

By Ian Hardy on August 15, 2011 at 7:49am in Mobile News

Wow. This is huge news. Google has just announced that they have “entered into a definitive agreement” that they will acquire Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion in cash. The deal still is expected to close by the end of 2011 or early 2012 and is already approved by both boards, but still needs to be given the green light by their shareholders.

According to the press release it stated that this will allow “Google to supercharge the Android ecosystem and will enhance competition in mobile computing”.
Larry Page, CEO of Google, said, “Motorola Mobility’s total commitment to Android has created a natural fit for our two companies. Together, we will create amazing user experiences that supercharge the entire Android ecosystem for the benefit of consumers, partners and developers. I look forward to welcoming Motorolans to our family of Googlers.”
This purchase probably brings some patents too.
More soon…
