Interesting. I had noticed that Applanet wasn't working any more. No big deal, you can simply use Google to find any apps that you aren't willing to buy and then sideload the APK's.
I think more devs need to understand the value of the impulse buy. If an app is 1 or 2 quid, and I really want/need it, I'll usually say fuck it and buy it. But I ain't spending 4 or 5 quid on one, that's ridiculous. Look at Angry Birds - costs money on iOS and is free and ad-funded on Android, and they've said they make more money from the Android version these days.
