I was right that the HTC Sensation is the worst dual core phone to date, not recommended.
Its performance is lower than that of Galaxy S2 and Lg 2X, it's all around inferior at.. almost everything and that's not even speaking about quality issues and singnal problems. Paradoxally it's also the most expensive.
A whole detailed comparison/review here:

It's clear the S2 is better by a wide margin. I think the Sensation would score a lot better without HTC Sense bloating it up and clogging everything. Sense is such a resource hog. TouchWiz takes up resources as well but not as much. Luckily Samsung already sent S2's to members of CyanogenMod :D :D Yay Samsung. CM running on the S2 will be stupid fast.

Yeah, but LG Optimus 2X is also better than the Sensation and it's much cheaper. Actually LG Optimus 2X turned out to be a pretty great all-around phone for its price.

that's what you said last time, then you went and bought an iPhone anyway, DIDNT CHA!!!!!! lol

srsly though it's nice to see ppl digging the Xperia Play. It's a fucking cool-ass device. I need my qwerty keyboards, but I still like it a lot.

congrats on the 200 page milestone btw.

carmi. you will have such a massive range of phones to choose from for your next phone, even if you decide to go with the iphone 5. but if you opt to go with android like you said before, you won't be disappointed if you go for a mid to high-end phone. just don't go for anything crappy like a htc wildfire... i told my mum to get it and HTC Sense is what totally ruins that phone (except for the low resolution). i tried to flash CM on it, but the hboot was the new one so the unrevoked software couldnt unlock it.

I'm pretty interested in the Milestone/Droid 3 which just came out in China and should have a US release soon. 5-row qwerty, FFC, dual core, and 4-inch qHD screen... this ticks all the boxes for me. Unfortunately I doubt it'll get a UK release... might be able to import one though.

http://www.androidcentral.com/milestone-3-gets-complete-run-through-leaves-nothing-imagination

  • 4-inch qHD Display
  • 8MP Rear Camera (1080p video capable)
  • VGA Front-Facing Camera
  • 1500mAh Battery
  • Dual-Core OMAP 4430 processor
  • 512MB of RAM
  • Updated MotoBlur

Slightly more RAM would be nice and MotoBlur is lame, but I can live with the first (I have 512MB RAM on my G2 and never had any problems) and no doubt this will get rooted and Cyanogenized with the quickness.

One of RIM’s biggest investors says “Steve Jobs is a much better marketer”, sells over 5 million shares

By Ian Hardy on June 17, 2011 at 10:55am in Mobile News

The bloodbath continues today for RIM. After announcing disappointing financial results and declaring their upcoming devices will be delayed, the market is reacting and their share price is currently down over 20%, or $7.00/share. To make matters worse their 6th biggest shareholders with approximately 10.2 million shares has lost faith, selling over 50% of their stake in the company.
Jarislowsky Fraser Ltd had about $361 million tied up in RIM stock but Chairman Stephen Jarislowsky said “We are on the way out. The stake has been reduced by more than 50% or even more… They are resting on their laurels… Steve Jobs is a much better marketer than RIM”.
What do you think… will RIM make it back to the glory days?

Cheap pentile matrix screen, cheap components and build quality.. I don't think I'd buy a Motorola Android phone until they improve their quality.

My droid screen died.

Need to order a new phone. To be honest am a little over keyboards. Think I might go for a simpler form factor and just get one of the new HTC touch screens.

How's the Incredible S?

Incredible S is just a pretty average new-gen Android. A few levels behind the Sensation which gets pretty average reviews too. Actually the 'new' HTC line-up doesn't even have 1 outstanding phone, they are all mediocre and expensive for what they offer. Especially compared to competition which released mostly very good phones this year - Samsung, Sony Ericsson and LG.

saw the advent bega and the motorola xoom in comet or currys today.

1) the vega is annoying for the fact that the back button is on the side of the device - a bit awkward to use.
2) the motorola xoom wouldn't turn on dammit!!

But the Vega is cheap as fuck. You can get them for £150 if you go on holiday and pop into dixons tax free.

I got mine for £200 back in February. More than happy with it. Will be even happier when Honeycomb is past the beta stage.

Honeycomb isn't getting open-sourced, so you'll be waiting for the Ice Cream Sandwich release before there's full legit 3rd party ROMs for tablets. But that's not so far away. This fall, by all indications.

They're not releasing it?

Will they release 4.0? And will they release it at launch?
