This might sound silly, but is there somewhere I could watch it all over again, because I had to go to school and wasn't able to stream it live. lol

I am most interested by Android @ Home. I have been looking into home automation for a while but nothing has been available for me to really automate my house. I want to be able to control the lights and heating when I am away. I want to be able to monitor certain parts of my house and I want to be able to open electric gates or garage should I so wish.

Limited Edition Google I/O Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 hits eBay for $840

The scary thing about home automation, especially in this sense, is that you can get hacked by some anon dude and he'll take complete control over your damn house. Imagine him flushing your toilet to the rhythm of that Wizard of Oz song. Not cool, bro.

Good point. lol.

I never thought of that. But I'd imagine it won't be easy.

What do you do after you've bought the most powerful smartphone to yet grace the Android universe? Some timid folks would urge you to just enjoy it, but if you're like us, you'll probably want to know just how high that dual-core Exynos 4210 birdie could fly. The processor inside the Galaxy S II started off life at 1GHz, then got sped up by Samsung to 1.2GHz just before release, and has now been taken all the way to 1.5GHz thanks to coolbho3000 over on the xda-developers forum. He's been nice enough to provide the source code and instructions necessary to reproduce this stable overclock on your Galaxy S II, but don't rush off just yet -- there's video of the GSII romping through Quadrant and Linpack after the break.

[Thanks, Mike and Sam]

So how does the Android phone situation look like right now?
Galaxy S2 turned out to come with a quite affordable price tag, combined with being top notch at about everything Samsung have the ultimate Android phone.. again.
The 2X packs quite the processing power but lacks in most other areas but is quite affordable for what it offers too. It's the cheapest dual core. LG Black, if priced well might help LG with grabbing a huge piece of the mid-end market from Samsung and SE.
SE's new Xperia line is very good. The Arc is VERY cool despite having a single core (but relatively fast) cpu. Frankly, you don't need more at the moment. In the mid-end they have neo. Plus Pro and Xperia Play will contribute to SE's success too.

Looks like Samsung, SE and LG have the coolest phones at the moment and are about to dominate the market this year.

However HTC's lineup is very disappointing. Desire S doesn't really seem to be an improvement to the original Desire while being almost twice as expensive here and outdated from the very beginning. Same story with Incredible S - it's so-so but can't really compete with its high price tag. Flyer isn't really impressive, Sensation is the only phone that looks okay but can't really compete with Galaxy S2. Imo it's superior to 2X but I bet that the price tag might kill it.
The only chance for HTC would be coming up with some entirely new phones. People seem to like HTC phones so that might help too but their situation looks much worse than it was for the last few years.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Motorola. That's because they basically have no new line-up. Their new phones are boring, however Attrix is quite successful in the US from what I've heard.

This is the phone I'm debating to upgrade to, like you say the biggest crticism I've read of the Incredible S is that it is only a marginal improvement over the Desire. This doesn't bother me really though as I've never owned a Desire model.

^It depends on what are your alternatives.
I've heard that it's a good phone but there are usually better choices - this year we have many amazing phones to pick from.

So I set up Google Cloud printing service on my phone, this could be very handy for me because I often print photos i've taken on my phone. Now I can take a photo and instantly send it to my printer from anywhere I can get a 3G connection (does kinda work on 2G but only got to about 50% before timing out"), waiting for me when I get home. No more transfering files.

^^

Do you need a print server for this?
Nope. You have 2 options, either have Chrome installed on your computer or buy an ePrint printer, currently only HP make them.

When doing it by Chrome, there is an option for it in settings. You dont have to keep Chrome running but your PC does need to be on.
If you buy an ePrinter, you can associate it with your Google account, without the need of the PC being on when you print.

You can manage your print queue from your browser.

Currently you can only Cloud print from a Android or Chrome device, not from another PC.

Then I use an App called "Cloud Print" from the Market (not made by Google, but is free and works brilliantly) which is associated with my Google account. Select what I want to print and upload it to my Cloud where its forwarded to my printer.
