Osama bin Laden is dead!

Would he? If everything was done according to the law I don't suppose they'd find enough evidence - I'm not sure but I think the only thing they had was his own words? Also he'd probably have a lot of "harmful" stories to tell - I believe it's the main reason they wanted him dead.
Of course! There is not only his words, there are witnesses etc... even from where they killed him they had documents of plans for more attacks. Look at Saddam, he was tried and hanged.

My point is, is that it shouldnt be the US's call. They seem to decide what this world needs without actually asking them.

You might have a point on the 'harmful' stories part though

The U.S. has been gathering evidence against Bin Laden since he declared war in 1996. He was very open about what he was doing. He hid because he was afraid, but he never meant to hide his guilt. Dudeman pled guilty a long time ago. He made videos, took credit for 9/11, etc. He broadcasted his confessions to the world. If you're looking for evidence, there's no shortage of it.

may be not something posted here but its funy how the baking off of him being armed/un armed is being coupled by some with him using his wife or who ever as a shield
Edub, you and I are in lockstep on this one, but the story about him using his wife as a shield was apparently untrue. He was the last person left in the house, though. Hopefully the SEALs had a few words with him about why they were there.

Sorry. I'm too close to this to have any reservations.

i was pointing out people bringing the accusation of him being un armed along with the shield accusation whether ornot its practical or non dependent
like "he wasnt armed And he isnt a coward"

I agree with Chomsky to some degree. The US is setting a dangerous precedent, they seem to make the laws, then adjust them when it suits their needs (look at the changes to the laws on torture). I dont care what OBL did, his actions have affected people in many countries not just the US. The US didnt have a right to kill an unarmed man, thats clearly a violation of international law which the US seem to use to when it suits them. Im sure OBL would have been sentenced to death but he should have gone to trial.

Not to mention how most Western Countries are happy to sign up to the Geneva Conventions but America picks and chooses the protocols it chooses to accept. Like the Scorched Earth Policy.

in what court?

While I try not to reply to your nonsense. There's a court set up specifically for trials such as this. It is called The Hague.

would holding Bin Laden as a prisoner really have been a good idea though?

Maybe he isn't dead. He is having his brain examined right now by Walter Bishop and his secrets are in the hands of the black Jesus - Barrack Obama.

To me, this isn't politics. And similar to what the British Empire did at the height of their power. Seems the world is no more democratic than 500, 1000, 2000 years ago, and is still fighting the same wars.

If you are serious with this response, then you have to be totally ignorant of mankinds history.

Please read some reports from the last few days and NOT what was reported immediately after, which as Ristol said was mostly untrue.

There is such thing as an International court. He could have been tried under any number of crimes under article 5 of the Rome statute
