Fuck yeah! I woke up today and saw that article when you posted it on Facebook and it made my day, really. I couldn't think of anything else since then, lol.

IMO, they should update the graphics of the first two, and turn it all into one long game. That would solve the problem of people not being familiar with the storyline, and also being able to keep the items collected in the first two games, which obviously wasn't possible when playing the DC S1 and the Xbox S2.

Maybe they could even include the missing Chapter 2, when Ryo fights Chai again on the boat from Japan to Hong Kong.

Yeah playing Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2 in HD would be amazing. Another amazing thing is, that it's extremely easy to recreate it in HD since it used high quality textures in the first place. And a whole story on one console would also be awesome. I'm so curious to see what happens in Shenmue 3. If that game gets announced for a console that I don't own I will instantly buy it.

If this happens, I'll be getting it. I found myself reading up on the plot lines of Shenmue 1 and 2 the other day. Reading the story in text format kills it I guess, because it sounds pretty weird, random and short. I guess there is an element to the game you can only experience by playing it.

I had a friend who rounded the first one on the Dreamcast. I would go over to his house for Shenmue and Code Veronica sessions and just watch him play, smoke cigarettes and have a great time. The old days. Anyway, I remember Shenmue and I remember he loved it too. I did some of the QTE portions of the game for him :-D I also remember the start of the game at the dojo with the father being killed. Everything else is a blur.

The game definitely wasn't short. How many discs was the original again? All my other dreamcast games were on 1 disc.
