Has anyone got one of these?

We just got one yesterday with the fitness and dance central. Its frikking cool! definitely tires you out and better than carrying a controller around like the PS3 or Wii

Im buying a new xbox on monday due to my old one dying after 6 years, i considered buying the kinect, but its 100 bucks more if i get it included, and id rather spend that 100 on black ops or something, but I do want this.

I prefer just relaxing with my controller. This looks fun but is too expensive and requires some space which I don't have in my room.

great concept and by far the best one out of the three competitors. i havent seen too much of PS3 mvoe though.

Im all for being as active as possible. quite ironic though since my activity levels have seriously dropped during uni. that will change from next year onwards.

i had the PS2 Eyetoy which was only fun for when people were around. it cost me like £60 extra and i only played it about three times.

boxing and snooker on the kinect would be sick.

Wii Tennis is so much fun. My sister and I play when I'm back at home and it gets intense. I just can't imagine playing most games like this.

I have yet to try it out so I'll reserve judgement. I'll just wait like Bobby.

My cousin just got the Kinect today. I'm going to his house on Thursday so will give it a blast. He got the Sonic Riders and Kinect Adventures games.

^^ How was it? The fitness game is awesome, really customizable. Adventures is good fun too, the rafting game is cool, but every time I jump I think my neighbors are gonna complain.

You can play the tennis game too. Wouldnt it be more fun with better graphics and no controller?

I played Kinect Adventures and Kinect Joy Ride (one level demo) and they were both awesome. I liked the one on Adventures where you have to stop the walls from leaking when the sharks are attacking. Lotsa fun.

I dunno. Depends if the accuracy suffers. If they take into account the angle at which the WiiMote is held to put a spin on a volley or something, how will the Kinect do that with no peripheral to judge that? It might be able to, but when it gets it wrong once or twice, it might get a bit frustrating.

With the WiiMote, I rarely have problems with angling the hits.

The Kinect and can see your facial movements and expressions, even down to blinking, it seeing your hands is no where near an issue.

dont forget the other features the kinect will/does offer, like voice recognition, it signs you in to your account by facial recognition, and its great when you are viewing media.

That advanced, huh? Well, I think the disc drive on my 360 is about dead. Gotta open and close the tray a few times before it finally reads the game and gets out of the dashboard. I don't feel like shelling out for a new one just yet but it seems like Kinect is set to be pretty big. Things like this always leave me skeptical at first, so I wait, hoping for the worst so I don't have to go out and buy it.

If I'm not wrong, they're $300 with the Kinect and 60 (120 maybe?) GB HDD. This was at Target or BB and they were offering a $25 gift card so that might ease up the pain. Problem is, I don't have that kinda money. I bought my 360 with my summer job money waaaayyyy back then. Sucks to see the bastard dying out at this point.

But I have logged on months worth of time on MW2 and Halo 3 and Black Ops. Maybe I did get my money's worth. :)2

I'm the only one who uses my xbox so it already auto-signs me in. What is voice recognition used for? I also don't view any media on my 360, my dad has a home theatre for that =P

I watch videos on my Xbox. Movies, I mean. If I have friends over or go to a friends and downloaded a movie we all wanted to watch, then the Xbox really comes in handy.

If you buy your DVDs and Blu-Rays, then it's another story. Maybe a home theatre is good for that.
