Im hoping Google TV will support most android apps. Many Android games have support for bluetooth controllers such as the xbox controller and wiimote, so playing games from my rom collection would be bad ass.

^^ wow, never thought of that. hopefully they'll support the PS3 controllers too since they have PSX ROMs for the phones. i dont have a wii or xbox so that doesnt really affect me much.

The TVs will have good GPUs and should have good CPUs, but resolution might be a problem. you have to remember that most developers will remain developing for android on the phones rather than google tv, unless they have some sort of google tv emulator to alter the resolution for different screen sizes with).

Yeah, I've seen something similar for Macs, where you could pair up any of the three console's controllers and play games and ROMs on your computer. Someone will come up with something similar for GTV.

Has this thing been rooted? Or is it even possible?

it should be possible. if it were something like sony's playstation interface then that would be a different story because it'd probably take longer to crack.

if u think about the possibilities of something like this, it could replace the use of many computers, admittedly not every one. but if they expand on the android platform, applications for desktop publishing and more can be brought directly to the tv. and imagine if it ended up supporting high end games? Call Of Duty 10 for Google TV?

They could bring legit gaming to it. If you can run Android apps fully, no reaon the PSX and lower emulators shouldn't work. That's a start.

true. and with adobe air it should run a lot of desktop apps as a basis, then they could move towards more advanced apps. i dont think its entirely necessary though because its just a tv afterall - so most people wont be using it for much rather than just media.

Toshiba and Vizio are jumping into Google TV. That's good news. Samsung, also, and I understand LG are heavily considering it.

I predict that most people will have Google TV within 5 years. Damn near everyone I know has either a Samsung, Sony Bravia or Vizio TV. That's aside from all the Blu Ray players that will also include it, and Blu Ray players haven't yet reached mass traction either, so if there's a bunch of players that also include Google TV..... then that is a major win.

looks like it'll be some time before Google TV hits the UK with Google stalling on its launch. It was scheduled for an early 2011 release.
