Anyone following?

It seems like it's not getting much coverage and/or people are just not that much into it. It's the equivalent of the World Cup but basketball. Anyway, judging by the amount of star players who have declined to play for their national teams, one would make the logical conclusion that FIBA is not given the same importance as the Olympics even though it's still GOLD! Whatever, though.

So far, not a particularly fascinating tournament, but there's some good basketball being played. France upset Spain, I was like WTF? But Gasol (the real Gasol) isn't playing and Rubio was weak as fuck. USA is looking real good even though not a lot of veteran players are playing. We'll see how they do in close games. So far, not a clear cut favorite I think. USA, Spain, Argentina, Serbia, and Greece have the best chance but France and Lithuania are looking good too.

I hope you soak in diarrhea and die.

Speaking of stinky things...

Danny Granger, a stellar forward for the Indiana Pacers and member of Team USA, apparently can't wait for the FIBA World Championship tournament to end so he can leave Europe.

Granger tweeted after the team's narrow victory over Brazil that Europeans do not wear deodorant. He also said it smells like "dead donkeys."

Granger isn't the only NBA player who has made twitter news recently. Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony, who reportedly wants to leave Denver, had his twitter account hacked into on Saturday night.

Stanky armpits have been the standard European strategy for winning since the 1950s.

On a serious note, I don't think the US is unbeatable. Far from it. They still haven't been tested seriously, only Brazil but even Brazil doesn't compare to the likes of Argentina. It will be interesting.

I couldn't watch the game as I was on my way to Vancouver, BC for the annual Serbian Days but I was following the score on my phone and was flippin' out because of the close score throughout the game. I'm glad we pulled it off, though. I look forward to the Spain match.

I watched the last quarter of the Australia V Germany which we won by double their score.. :) And then a bit of the US V Brazil game, but lost interest. I don't know why I'm not more interested in it.

Growing up as a kid, I watched Serbia (then Yugoslavia) winning a lot of medals and I just remember great celebrations every time the team would come home to Belgrade. Therefore, FIBA championships, Olympics, and Eurobasket always feel special to me because of that.

and Flip, lol @ Roko saying that he feels like a loser and that Croatia loses games the way the Italian football team wins. LMAO.

lol, Ukic. We're a transitional team, and we did well I thought. The gayest thing was when we'd get a steal, we'd lose the ball right after. Those killed us when we could have done something.

We should call Dino Rada and ask him to come out of retirement lol, bastard is useless directing at KK Split.

Basketball isn't a huge sport in Australia so I think thats probably why on a World stage it hasn't got that excitement. When I was a kid I'd watch MJ games so thats where I get pumped up the most.

I take pride in knowing we were at least able to neutralize Teodosic - that is all. :D

Nonetheless, great 3 pointer. To those that missed it.

Lithuania 104 - Argentina 85
No one even believed this could happen. But our young team proved it. Big names don't mean nothing.
Can't wait to see how we play against US on semifinals. If we play like today - be prepared for a surprise :)

I've said it before, the US is not unbeatable. I would not be surprised if Lithuania won, but I am expecting a US win.

I'm not too worried about playing Turkey in Turkey because Serbia (then Yugoslavia) has a history of shitting on hosts of these tournaments. Also, Turkey blew out Slovenia so they're not as tough mentally as we are coming from a last-second win. They do have a good team though and a Montenegrin coach. I don't know why that kid Enes Kanter is not playing for them. He's a beast.

Although his stats for the game suggest otherwise, Teo was fucking shit throughout the whole game. I mean like, he played like complete and utter shit. Their defense was great and Rubio's speed and quickness was just killing Teo. When a great player has a game like that though, it's only a matter of time before he does something to make up for the shitty playing.

And yea, I love that commentator lol he's such a passionate fan. You should check out the one from the Spanish broadcasters. The guy is like "AY DIOS MIO!" lmao.
