Technology Mass Effect or Fallout 3?

Haven't played either franchise yet.

Going to download one of the above named games from STEAM for my PC. After reading countless reviews I still can't decide as they pretty much say they are both must have games.

Anyone played either of them? Or anyone played them both? What would you go for?

Both are great. If you like role playing games then Dragon Age: Origins was way better though. Actually I didn't like these fantasy-RPGs at all before I started playing Dragon Age.
It's longer and much more addicting.

I was a Fallout fan so Fallout 3 was a disappointment to me but to be fair I also didn't like Mass Effect 2 THAT much but I only played it for an hour or so at friend's house who thinks it's one of the best Xbox360 games. Both are barely RPGs.
To me Dragon Age>>>Fallout 3> Mass Effect 2

Ddue, you just missed out on that ridiculous sale that ended recently. It was GTA4, Bioshock 1 and 2, Fallout and ME too, I think. You should have gotten on that and saved some big bucks. I'm on a Mac so I couldn't get all the games, but it was definitely a good deal.

I played F3 for a bit before and it was just weird. I have heard a lot of good things about Mass Effect and I have it for Windows, I just have to run Boot Camp on my Mac and finally try it. Otherwise, I think I gotta get the game somehow, either for 360 or PC. Might be cheaper used for the 360 at Gamestop.

Mass Effect 1 is the best rpg game I've played since FF7, and I've played a lot of them. Mass Effect 2 is a great game, but it is not as good as number 1. Fallout 3 is great if you like open world games. Personally I despise open world games as I feel I have no overall goal/purpose inthem

Eh? Dragon Age is the shit but I like Mass effect better. Did you play Mass Effect 1? If not you should play that before you play two. The way I see it is Mass Effect is an RPG about the characters, while DA is an RPG about the world.

i must start playing Fallout 3 again.

i think the biggest problem for me with it is that, like Oblivion,it is very overwhelming and it takes ages to go anywhere.

Yea I can get it for £8 PC digital download or £8 from Amazon but have to wait for it to be sent in the post so I went for the digital download.

I have Dragon Age, couldn't really get into it, i've played WoW and it just felt like a poorer version of WoW.

No, I only played Mass Effect 2 and not for long either. Maybe I'd get into it more after I played it for a longer time.

I haven't tried Mass Effect but i've been unable to get into Fallout 3 much. It's too much detail, IMO... like having entire conversations with people that I have to literally pick the responses too and other stuff.. I usually like games like that but I just can't get into this one.

If I had to choose between the 2 - go ahead with Mass Effect.

If I had to throw something else in there - Dragon Age FTW.
