Apparently he can play as an attacking midfielder also.
He is raw no doubt. But to shell out 7 Mil on a player must mean he has potential. Sir Alex doesn't make too many mistakes.
Edit - Watch him against the better Portuguese teams such as Benfica. He plays mostly down the wings. And looks decent. Pace, control.... and confidence.
He'll have potential no doubt, whether or not under the the guidance of Fergie he can harness it is another question. He also played for Portugal in the "Homeless World Cup", stemming from his background being raised in an orphanage, or so I'm led to believe.
