delfouneso deserves a chance. but i still think carew/gabby are the best duo we currently have (when carew doesnt behave lazy).

Albrighton should be getting more chances if milner leaves. But damn, this is going to mess things up as Milner, in my opinion, the hardest working player in our squad will leave. He always gives 110% and nothing less. If he leaves, then we certainly are going to struggle this season in all competitions to acheive anything we did last season, especially get 5th or higher. - A result of weaking the squad. Imagine if Barry had stayed and Laursen if he didnt have to retire due to injury. But things are different. Right now, the last thing villa should do is weaken their squad, and even with the £20-30m that will be received if he goes this summer will be spent on other players which i doubt will even match Milner's calibre. even then, they will probably be average and overpriced players.

sidwell looks to be leaving for £2m. shorey, luke young, davies, reo-coker, heskey are all being linked away from the club too.

I have always questioned O'Neills transfer dealings. He doesn't spend very well. Some he wins. But a lot he loses.

You read too much into my posts. They aren't a dig at you. Unless you are one of those that supports a club because of your political or religious backgrounds. I have to admit, I fucking hate Liverpool, but don't think less of you for supporting them. It's just that when I grew up they were winning everything and all my peers supported them.

The problem with Northern Ireland is that you can't please everyone. Some want to be under British rule, others don't. But... as much as you don't like it, and the same with Scotland. A lot of income comes into the country from the public sector. Get rid of the British government and lose that.

I personally don't have a hatred towards those outside of England. I hate anyone North of London, equally. May I also point out, again, that one side of my family descends from Ireland, so no hatred there.
ok i thought you were gonna go on about people supporting teams from other countries etc. like i have seen alot. its a nonsense argument as far as im concerned.

thats true. and its better to have peace up there than war and innocent people getting killed but you can understand why some people would still be very bitter about it.

Dunne warns Milner that he may well be a bit-part player because of the size of the squad who wants to win the league.

This means that Downing and Dunne have now warned him within a week. Sadly, I still dont think it'll affect his decision to go. Yes he can win the league with city (with the players they have), but he might not have a fundamental role within the squad and may play 15-20 games, instead of every minute like he can at villa. I mean who doesnt want to win silverware? I wish he would stay at villa, help us fight for that 4th place, enjoy a great run in the Europa League, Carling Cup and help us win that long awaited FA Cup final! Easier said than done though.
Let's see what happens with the transfer...

Villa should be persuading him to join City if they can that ridiculous money for such a player who has achieved nothing in his career so far. He has won nothing and has only 10 caps at the age 25

when you talk about caps. the position he's played at (RM) was occupied by David Beckham for England and so it was almost an automatic start for Beckham whenever England were to play, meanng that competition for even getting on the subs bench was tough. It took a bigge rclub like villa to showcase Milner's talents from when we first took him out on loan.

Players like SWP were picked ahead 1) because of his form at city, 2) because he moved to Chelsea - a bigger club.

Another this is that Milner is being recognised for his England form and the difference he made to the squad, similar to how barry did when he broke into the England squad 2-3 years ago. Why would we want to let an England international with what most would agree with has a bright future ahead of him. He can fulfil that at villa so long as we strengthen and not weaken the team - selling milner defeating the object.

how can a selling club be pushing for top 4's. villa are not a selling club, yet they have their best players leaving all the time. it frustrates me.

moving on anyway. sidwell pretty much never had a serious injury in his career until he came to villa. fitness was a concern. and a player like him should have played a lot more. he becomes frustrated and needs more starts so he opts to go to fulham for £2m. i hate it when players dont get a chance and they move on. look at luke moore, he was like a secret weapon, got those crucial goals - nowhere near world class though.

big name/money players we've sold on past 15 years

dwight yorke - united
gareth barry - city
james milner - city??

SWP is utter shite and so if Gareth Barry. so thats no excuse for not making it. and Beckham has been past it for years now.

they way i look at it, Villa could get 25-30 million for him and look for cheaper foreign players who may improve the squad.

Milner is a good player but nowhere near worth that kind of money.

oh wait, Wigan actually signed him too lol

so they have James McCarthy and James McArthur. Both players were at Hamilton 2 seasons ago.

McArthur is a good young player as well.

I'm not overly a fan of Jose Enrique, a lot of Newcastle fans don't rate him highly, I remember he was being slated a lot by them when they were in the Premiership. But I never really saw him do much wrong.

Also, Raul and Guti have left Real Madrid. It's actually a shame not to see Raul finish his career at Real Madrid. Guti probably one of the most inconsistent players ever, but when he was on form he could be awesome.
