^^i say that because of what they have signed and who Rangers have lost.

that Korean right back Cha Dul Ri played quite well in the World Cup.

looks like Lawrence might be heading up there as well. he is a decent player imo. doesnt always play at Stoke because Delap plays on the right and they want him for the long throws. Lawrence is a better player imo.

Albert Riera joins Olympiakos for 4.5 million. good riddance you absolute cunt.

feeble prick couldnt play more than 60 minutes in any game.

watch him fall out with the coach down there as well.

Because your team is a big club, and can bully others into letting go of their best youngsters. If Gerrard ran his contract down and left to Chelsea two years ago, you wouldn't be so bolshy then.

Agreed. Although any player with half a brain would question Benitez' methods and transfer policy.

To be fair, I think Bobby supports Celtic?

But the situation up there pretty bad it seems, if Rangers can't sign players imagine the teams below them. A bad situation to be in.

lol Liverpool bidded for the player and paid good money for him. what he is worth imo and DPG doesnt seem overly bothered by it either.

Liverpool arent in a great state financially either you know.

and you'd nearly forgive me for not having much sympathy for Rangers FC lol although i wouldnt wnat to see them go bust or anything like that.

Again. You let religion come into football.

^^thats what you think.

should i love Rangers then and all that club represents, ignoring religion, as an Irish man?

besides, whether you like it or not, that club is strongly linked with religion. is that my fault?

did DPG, a rangers fan, have any sympathy for Ireland when we lost to France? nope. but you never said anything back then.

Its not wise to make assumptions about people you dont know or have never met.

oh and i never saw any complaints when Wigan took James McCarthy off Hamilton last summer for pittance.

any promising young Scottish player playing in that league has to move to further their careers imo. Wilson isnt gonna reach the top playing in that league is he? he has a big chance at Liverpool and if he does make it then it will be great for the Scotland team. Rangers got enough for him.

McGeady should have moved down earlier as well. he stayed at Celtic far too long.

I hate Rangers and Celtic.

I believe you should only support clubs local to you. National or at Club level. Maybe I am a dinosaur.

And was I posting here last summer? No. So it would have been difficult for me to comment on James McCarthy. Same applies to the Irish getting knocked out. So your points are mute, again.

I don't have a paranoia. All you celts live in the past and blame the big bad Englishman for your problems. Same applies to the Scottish. The English rampaged 100's of years ago, and that's why you still hate them. I don't moan at the vikings or the Italians.....

Religion has no place in football... Nor does politics. So fuck the catholics, and the protestants. Both second rate shit teams anyway. Up the Millwall. ;)

I also hate hooliganism, and the majority of football fans. They are all moronic brain dead idiots. This doesn't actually apply to anyone on SH, but on other more football orientated forums. Except maybe for Brits who support Argentina.

Edit - When I say you. I don't mean you personally. Nor do I believe the whole of Eire and Scotland are the same. But I'd be Naiive not to think it's the majority.

what if there is no football club from the area you live? not sure if that is meant to be a dig at me for supporting liverpool. either way, that argument is a load of bollocks.

its not 100 years ago though is it?. its now lol. There was war right up until the 90's and Britain still rules part of Ireland. maybe thats why some Irish people are still pissed? They have more of a reason to be pissed than the Brits who are pissed and hold a grudge towards Irish republicans and there are plenty of them about too.

no it doesnt. but unfortunately thats life.

Its funny, i used to sit and have lunch with a massive (football) Rangers fan from Glasgow sometimes in one of my old jobs. a nice man he was too. that might give you an indication as to how i am since you like to assume things.

You read too much into my posts. They aren't a dig at you. Unless you are one of those that supports a club because of your political or religious backgrounds. I have to admit, I fucking hate Liverpool, but don't think less of you for supporting them. It's just that when I grew up they were winning everything and all my peers supported them.

The problem with Northern Ireland is that you can't please everyone. Some want to be under British rule, others don't. But... as much as you don't like it, and the same with Scotland. A lot of income comes into the country from the public sector. Get rid of the British government and lose that.

I personally don't have a hatred towards those outside of England. I hate anyone North of London, equally. May I also point out, again, that one side of my family descends from Ireland, so no hatred there.

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo:

from avfc.co.uk - the club's official website. also meaning that milner leaving is making progress.

Aston Villa | Football Club | News | Football News | Football News Articles | Martin O'Neill: Milner Latest

Martin O'Neill today insisted James Milner will only be sold to Manchester City if the club's valuation of the England midfielder is met.

Milner was the subject of a bid from Manchester City before the World Cup, which was firmly rejected.

Speaking from Villa's training camp in Dublin, the boss revealed that the 24-year-old might consider a move to Eastlands but the manager stressed that Milner will only be allowed to move if the clubs can agree on a transfer fee.

"There is still a doubt really as to what is happening to James Milner," O'Neill said.

"The state of affairs is really straightforward. James and his agent came to see us before the World Cup and intimated that they would like to go.

"Then Manchester City made the offer which we told them about. There is a difference of valuation at this moment between the buying club and the selling club.

"That may well be resolved and if that is the case then absolutely fine. I think James' agent has told our chief executive that he wouldn't be signing a new contract.

"Obviously that puts a different slant on things, like everything else.

"Although I haven't spoken to James since that day, he has played in the World Cup and the rest really is pretty well straightforward.

"If a fee is agreed, at the end of the day, the player can leave."

Villa will continue their pre-season programme with a friendly against Bohemians at Dalymount Park on Saturday [ko 3pm].

The 11-time League of Ireland champions go into the match on the back of a 4-0 defeat to Welsh outfit TNS on Tuesday, in the Champions League second qualifying round.

Pat Fenlon's team are chasing a third straight League of Ireland crown and currently sit in third place, two points off the top spot.

Milner has yet to join up with the Villa squad for pre-season having been granted an extended break, along with fellow World Cup stars Emile Heskey, Stephen Warnock and Brad Guzan.

"Manchester City have put a valuation on the player," O'Neill added. "It doesn't match our particular valuation but we will see.

"That part of things I am leaving to other members of the football club - the chief executive and the owner - and at the end of it all it is a matter of resolving it."

delfouneso deserves a chance. but i still think carew/gabby are the best duo we currently have (when carew doesnt behave lazy).

Albrighton should be getting more chances if milner leaves. But damn, this is going to mess things up as Milner, in my opinion, the hardest working player in our squad will leave. He always gives 110% and nothing less. If he leaves, then we certainly are going to struggle this season in all competitions to acheive anything we did last season, especially get 5th or higher. - A result of weaking the squad. Imagine if Barry had stayed and Laursen if he didnt have to retire due to injury. But things are different. Right now, the last thing villa should do is weaken their squad, and even with the £20-30m that will be received if he goes this summer will be spent on other players which i doubt will even match Milner's calibre. even then, they will probably be average and overpriced players.

sidwell looks to be leaving for £2m. shorey, luke young, davies, reo-coker, heskey are all being linked away from the club too.
