No good games on tonight, this is pretty much a placeholder.

dates:

3/9 - 3/13: The Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden
3/10 - 3/13: Pac-10 tournament (as if anyone gives a shit, lmao)
3/11 - 3/14: Big 10, Big 12, ACC, SEC tournaments

3/18: march madness begins (my alma mater, Tulane, is one of the hosts)
4/5: march madness ends

if you're not into college hoops the big east tourney is the best way to get your feet wet. it's pretty much the NBA lite but a lot more physically aggressive. last year the conference tournament produced the greatest game ever:

outside the big east, kentucky, kansas, purdue and ohio state are the only teams i'm really taking seriously right now and purdue looks like they might be fucked, thanks to robbie hummel's ACL. i guess maryland and kansas st. would be my dark horses. i don't respect duke much this year at all but next season they should be nasty.

so: john wall vs. evan turner?

^ well, there's a good chance the warriors or kings could get the #1 pick.

kansas and kentucky both took Ls on the road. kentucky made a comeback but for most of the game they were flat out OWNED. bruce pearl exposes calipari almost every single time they meet. it's pretty crazy what he's done this year after losing his best player to some dumb shit. top 5 coach in the game right now, for sure.

^ yeah, wtf happened to washington, oregon, zona and especially ucla? cal's winning the conference and will be their only rep in the dance: the world is on its ass.

michigan state at purdueWithoutHummel in a little bit. i'm pullin for the boilermakers but i guess we can only wait and see how it goes.

The top 3 teams in the land got burned this weekend. Awesome.

West Virginia at Georgetown tonight. Big game for both schools. The Hoyas need to make a stand. Austin the couch potato Freeman is out tonight. Jason Clark and, er, Hollis Thompson need to step it up, and so does..... wait, Georgetown doesn't HAVE anyone else. The shallowest team in the Big East.

oh yeah i remember that classic from last years big east tourney, defintely looking forward to the NCAA's this year.

college basketball isnt what it was though, you got to many kids leaving after one year. i miss following a player for at least 3 to 4 years. your Stephen Currys, your Tyler Hansborough's.

im liking Kentucky this year too, with Cousins and Wall. a def #1 seed in the south region. i like the Hoyas too with Greg Monroe, G-Town should get a #3 or 4 seed.

i can stand the big ten, im gonna get all the big 10 regional tourney coverage though come mar 18th.

i gotta laugh at the Tar heels.. from national champion to most likely making the NIT this year.

Good news for you, Snowman. In tonight's big games (Maryland @ Duke, Kansas St. @ Kansas), both home teams are lead by seniors (Greivis SHIMMY Vasquez and Sherron Collins.)

Imagine how sick Kansas State would've been if Michael Beasley was there. It's kinda obvious in retrospect he wasn't NBA-ready.

What do you use to open pdfs?

I had beaucoup problems back in the day until I got hipped to this free program called "Foxit Reader" which works pretty well and isn't a RAM whore. Unfortunately, nowadays most of my pdf perusal is at work and I'm stuck with Adobe on my company laptop.

I won't lie, I'm watching the lady Huskies try to make history right now. What an amazing winning streak.

What a way for Cincinnati to lose. That three pointer at the buzzer was nothing but cold blooded.
And he forced the turnover right before, too. Da'Sean Butler is the man.

Evan Turner might've topped him today, though. He was half-awake most of the game but way to come through in the clutch. Michigan's coach should be fired for not guarding the inbounds play. What an idiot.

* Wisconsin is playing AWFUL. I feel sorry for hoops fans who rep Big 10 schools.
* My lil woman hates me for but I'm gonna grab some grape dutches and a 30-pack and try to somehow watch all of the following games tonight:
- Georgetown vs. Marquette (7pm)
- Georgia Tech vs. Maryland (7pm)
- Notre Dame vs. West Virginia (9 pm)
- Kansas St. vs. Baylor (9:30pm)

This year reminds me of four years ago when George Mason ended up going to the Final Four. So much parity and no one has any idea who's going to win out. I love March.

^ Not a bad seed, either. I could see the Huskies making it to the Sweet 16.

The Midwest looks brutal, 1-7 are all Final 4 threats: Kansas, MSU, Maryland, Tennessee, Georgetown and Ohio State.
