Just heard that he has died. he was only 32.

damn RIP

For those that dont know, he was the Hannover 96 goalkeeper

He was a promising keeper when he was younger and was with Barcelona for a season. He was capped 8 times for Germany and won best Bundeliga goalkeeper last year.

Apparantly it was suicide.

Was there a chance he could have been Germany's number one for the next WC Seb?

Yeah he was very good.

On 10 November 2009 Enke committed suicide at a level crossing after diving into an oncoming train in Neustadt am Rübenberge.[12] [13][14] German website Morgenpost Online have quoted a spokesperson from the Hannover police as saying: "Enke has thrown himself under a train at Neustadt am Rübenberge".[15] Enke's friend and advisor, Jörg Neblung, confirmed his death as a suicide to the Deutsche Presse-Agentur.[16]

his daughter died at the age of 2, not too long ago. That was probably a factor.

I feel for his poor wife. To lose her daughter and now her husband. Thats extremely tough on her :(

Before we played our game in russia, he was on his way to become the number one. However, a couple of weeks earlier, he got ill (some weird infection) which made him unable to play for at least two months. So Adler played against russia and thats why he is currently the number one, although Löw doesnt say it like that. So there was still a chance of Enke ending up being his first choice in 2010.

I was at football training when someone said "you heard? Enke died". Everyone thought the guy was kidding. It ended up being true. Really sad.

That is so fucked up. It's quite eerie cause I was just looking at my FM team, and Enke was a player I signed ... :S

Apparently he parked his car a short distance from the crossing, got out and walked a bit on the tracks before he got hit. He did leave a note, apologizing to his wife, family and therapists for his suicide. He was very depressed.

I can't help but think of his poor wife.

Depression turned to suicide. Its always a tragic story. Sometimes its hard to reach out to friends who are going through stuff we can't understand or relate to. Take care of each other.
