Tevez and Ribery are quasimodo's.
I'd have Kuijt's babies. Especiallly now
Alright, my thoughts:
horrible match, lol.
Started okay. Fabulous Gio strike. Didn't know he still had it in him. Contender for goal of the tournament, absolutely.
Then we hung back. Stupid fucking amateur mistake. And what happened?
Rule no.1 of playing against Uruguay: Don't let Forlan shoot
What did we do?
Right.
So, all's equal, we're still cocking about. We can but don't seem to want, Uruguay wants but can't seem to can (lulz).
Halftime. I hope Bertje scolded their skins full of horribleness. lol. It was a dull match, tho. We controlled, Uruguay looked at the counter. The 2-1 was a tad lucky (i didnt get to see if it was offside, was too busy crying my lungs out and stuff, ill get back on it) and what we did very well was immediately push for the 3rd. Go at the throat when your enemy is at his weakest. Thats pure Sun Tzu. Good 3-1, Robben with the head (lol btw, Sneijder header, Gio long distance cannonball, Robben header...thats not what you expect).
3-2 was stupid. Stupid stupid stupid. It was well taken but the chance should've never have occured.
Lost focus too after the 3-1. Had two absolutely clear cut chances in the last 10 minutes. Absolute platters. Same fucking thing against Brazil. Absolute sitters. Put 2 of the footy heads on this board together in the situation and even we would've made the fucking goal. But we fucked it up. Neglected to make more goals in the endphase like we did against Brazil.
Horrible match, lol.
Havent seen replays yet. Cant give a good impression about a possible offside goal (well, the 2nd i guess. it could be argued Persie was "in the way" in an offside position, so too much advantage, so disallowed) but i didnt get to see the Bommel foul you guys were talking about.
That all said, it was fantastic in the city tonight. The whole place exploded at our goals (although i didn't like the booing and cheering when Forlan was subbed. Thats the disadvantage of watching with morons. The spirit is great but theyre often cunts. Forlan is a great player, had a great tournament, great game, respect that shit and don't boo him. Almost got into a fight over it, lol.)
But after the match, it was great. Spontaneous parties erupted, there was an hour long chant-fest around a statue near the party-district, with people leaving and joining the circle and at some point some dude got hold of a megaphone and climbed the statue, lol. So many cool chants were sung and everyone joining in. It was awesome. This has been our first final since 32 years and we never won it. Most of the people that were partying it up tonight are of a generation that never saw our team reach the final of a world cup. But we did see the crashouts in 94 and 98 vs Brazil (not to mention the legendary Bergkamp goal vs Argentina in the 98 quarters).
The excitement after the Brazil match was great, but it was nothing compared to tonight. After Brazil we were all very happy we won and then we'd "done it", but it was still a long way to go. Of course the safe money was on us to proceed, but with the way the match was going tonight, meeeeeeeeeeh. But we struck in the later parts (the team is really fit ive noticed) of the match again. The discharge was immense at the 2-1 and the 3-1. Then the 3-2 came and tension came back. Then Bommel got a yellow and everyone thought that was the end signal, lmao. The whole place absolutely exploded.
I dont think its ever occured that a crowd cheered harder for a yellow to one of their own players than we did tonight, lmao. Then the play carried on and everyone was like "wtf". Hilarious. But when the final whistle came, we were still happy but the main discharge happened 2 mins earlier. We were most of all pissed at the Uzbeki cunt of a ref that made 6 mins out of 3 mins of injury time.
So yeah, the final. Shitfucks. I've never experienced this. 74 and 78 were way before my time. Spain or Germany. It doesn't matter. We haven't sparkled this tournament yet, but in our defense, in the group we weren't given much sparkling room, slovakia put up a wall, brazil was a match on its own, and uruguay were defensively decent but we still didnt consistently played them apart. Then again, if we didn't concede the 3-2 and if we just cooly finished the two end-game chances, it would've been 5-1 and we'd all say how the Dutch raped Uruguay.
Scoreboard journalism.
As a Twente fan, I've experienced one important thing in the last season:
There's only one match that counts. The next one.
11th of July. One more.
Gentlemen, I bid you goodnight.
