World Cup 2010

This is the problem with the English press, and most of the fans.

I watched the press conference. Terry came across more intelligent and articulate than I have ever given him credit. He was 2 steps ahead of the chimps from the PG Tips ads. Which suprised me.

I don't believe his words upset any of the England players. He didn't give anything away, and David James said similar things in interviews with the press after the Algeria game.

I can't imagine any of the players coming to blows. And Rooney's temper isn't a problem. If Rooney had behaved like Kaka did yesterday it'd be front page headlines. They'd be everyone questioning his temperament and every shrink would be in every paper or on every news channel giving an analysis of his poor behaviour. It's easy to say... Rooney hit him. Because that's an easy story to pick out the air, and because of all the bad press about Rooney's temper, easily believed.

Let the football do the talking. Stop hating on the England team (directed at English fans). And get behind them, and their individual players. Just because certain players are cocks, doesn't mean that we can't embrace them when they are wearing the three lions. Also... Cheating on your wife isn't a crime, nor is shagging your mates bird. 90% of the hate directed at players is jealousy.

One last (rant) point - If you aren't Brazilian (insert any successful national team here), and you support Brazil. You are a fucking fag. It makes me cringe when I see the English in Brazilian and Argentinian shirts. And in 2002 led to a beating for the moron who wore the Argentinian shirt during the England Vs Argentinia match in a pub where I lived. And we won that game. If we had lost, I believe he may have been killed.
So you like it when you have a disruptive player in your squad who is obviously, to anyone with even half a brain, trying to undermine his manager and captain?

and you dont see anything wrong with a player fucking a team mates wife then? you dont think that does anything to squad morale? or causes disharmony amongst the players. He seems obvious to me that Terry is the problem with the England squad at the moment. He should have got the boot after what he did to Wayne Bridge and the England team would have been much better off if Capello made the correct decision and did that.

maybe that supporter that got beaten up by those "hard" England yobs was from Argentina?

7-0.. finally the boys played together and united. Created chances, defended well and attacked brilliantly. The passing game was good without being great but occasionally you'd see an absolute gem of a short pass to someone. Ronaldo finally got his goal. All the goals were highlight worthy. Happy times. Now to steal the samba from Brasil. VIVA PORTUGAL!!

Lord Zizou speaks on France and its situation.

Zinedine Zidane is disappointed by France's on-field performances at the World Cup and doesn't agree with the team's actions off it.

But the hero of the 1998 championship team believes the former champions can win their last Group A game against South Africa.

Zidane said France's players should have trained Sunday instead of boycotting practice in protest of Nicolas Anelka being thrown off the squad.

While Zidane labels France's situation "sad," he does believe a victory Tuesday will help it get past its current predicament.

"This team has the possibility to get over this obstacle with this match. Everything can change for them," Zidane said Monday, adding France remains in contention for the title. "I hope they can still get out of this group. There is hope even if everything that has been said to now is the opposite."

France and South Africa have one point each from two matches, and will not progress if Mexico and Uruguay, both at four points, draw in their last Group A match.

Zidane said he could see a positive in defeat: it could shake the team clean of its problems with a coaching change imminent.

"If they lose there's a new coach in Laurent Blanc who will change all of this," Zidane said. "I don't think you can blame one player or another, but Laurent Blanc's arrival will change everything that is happening within the team."

The public rifts between France players, coaches and national officials over Anelka, who was thrown off the squad for insulting coach Raymond Domenech, should never have happened, according to Zidane. France team director Jean-Louis Valentin also resigned from the French Football Federation amid the chaos.

"Nobody agrees with what [Anelka] said or did. What I can't defend is the fact that it came out," Zidane said. "In a lockerroom a lot of things are said, but they should never come out."

Zidane also denied reports he advised France before its 2-0 defeat against Mexico.

"To think that I could call the players and tell them how to play — I mean, you have to be kidding me," Zidane said before explaining his relationship with Domenech. "I never had a problem with this coach, but I never had a good feeling for him. But I respected him in his position as coach. I was on the ship, I was captain of the team [in 2006]."

While Zidane, who said he had no plans to go into coaching anytime soon, laughed about having scheduled his news conference some time ago expecting an easy day. Instead, his former teammates' problems became the only talking point.

"Yes, I'm sad like a lot of people who support this team. Yes, I'm sad because we talk about everything but football," Zidane said. "We're all disappointed, me firstly, because I wore this jersey for a long time and the nicest thing I could have was to wear it."

Former South Africa player Lucas Radebe, who spoke at the event alongside Zidane, hoped South Africa could capitalize on France's problems while avoiding its own implosion.

"You know how important this next match is, so I hope there are no problems — we can't copy France outside the field of play," said Radebe, who played against Zidane at the 1998 tournament. "We know France has problems but that's not our problem. We have to focus our team. Possibly that can be an advantage for us."

Lol @ all you guys who gave the north korean players credit for their good organisation and shit like that in the first game against brazil.

Like it wasnt obvious that this team is lightyears behind world championship football and the result was a pure result of brazils horrific performance.

because they were well organised in that game. they seemed to have used up all their energy in that game and seemed to throw in the towel after the second goal.

Its completely different how a lower level team plays against Brazil and others traditional teams compared to how they play against other teams (Yes, Im saying that Portugal is NOT a traditional team)

its a lifetime experience, they give all they have and a lil bit more...besides it was the first match, all the pressure, they were nervous

the same happened with portugal against Cote D'Ivoire poor game by portugal

and now Korea played completely different against them, they actually tryed to attack, since the kick off
If they'd played Brazil this way, it would have been a blow out victory as well

Anyway...I really like portugal style, and its gonna be a really nice game Brazil x Portugal
The sad part is the poor REF that gave Kaka the red card for NOTHING

and he let those Cote d'Ivoire players do as it was UFC 116.

Now we have a World Cup!!!

Hey man, where've you been? :)

And yeah this ref is a fucking comic, lol. 8 yellows and a red so far.

kaka deserved his red :p
if football is now a total poofs sport he did. lol

if he did deserve it then so does every centre half in every game of football.

he did nothing.

read my earlier post in relation to Kaka. that is 100% true and i dont blame Kaka for standing up for himself more. All through his career he has been kicked around the place.

I cant help but laugh at chiles effort to score the second goal in the last 15 minutes.
another goal would have cemented their place in the last 16 imo.

they way i see it and presuming Spain beat both Honduras and Chile, Switzerland will have to beat Honduras by more than 2 goals to go through which i guess is possible. if Chile scored again it would make it tougher for Switzerland.

fuck Switzerland though. awful team. no effort to play properly. i hope Chile progress because they play the game right.

I dont blame Kaka for standing up for himself either. But what he did was a yellow card, lol. It was stupid.

@ 1 minute. That's a conscious little elbow planted in the player. Not a ball in sight. It's stupid. It's a yellow card. Keita should've gotten a yellow as well for exxagerating, though. But doesn't take away anything from the fact that Kaka fouled the guy with no ball around.

Card. Period.

its a yellow in a faggots sport maybe. which is what football is fast turning into i suppose.

i cannot believe that you think that he should have been booked for that.

all he did was hold out his arm to block the player running past him. something you see all the time in every single game. so we should have a lot more yellow cards then? because thats effectively what you are saying.

Portugal annihilated North Korea. Their game against Brazil will be interesting to say the least as they are both on goalscoring form and Portugal have kept two clean sheets whereas Brazil Haven't kept any.
