We were rooting for Yugoslavia. We had a couple of Bosnian players who were fucking sick in the beginning of the 90s.

Who was the coach in the 1990? Was it Osim?

Yah, my dad's side never supported Yugoslavia. They had their reasons I guess.

He was playing players that were established... Boban Jarni and Prosinecki were still young in 1990.

Boban, Jarni, Suker and Prosinecki were part of the team that won the Youth World Championship in 1987. There were all in their early 20s by the 1990 world cup, most of them around 22 to 24 yrs old.

Jugovic didn't play for the 1990 World Cup team I believe. He was still young and wasn't even a starter at Red Star, but he was there for the 98 World Cup and the 2000 Euros (I think).

so it does appear from reading this that Togo did in fact travel into Angola by bus from DR Congo and they werent just coming from an airport in Angola:

it was reported that they flew back to Togo today as they pulled out of the tournament. why didnt they travel to Angola by plane? surely they could foresee the dangers of travelling to that region by bus. Togo is a long way from Angola so maybe they flew to DR Congo and got a bus from there. they were hardly travelling from Togo to Angola by bus were they?

the reserve keeper has not died. that was reported by goal.com earlier today. he is undergoing surgery.

You have to laugh at the people who are saying that the WC should be moved from South Africa because of this incident. The area where the incident occured is approx. 2000 miles north of South Africa and is occupied by an active seperatist militia. Its like saying that they should have moved the 2002 WC cup from South Korea over something that happened in Afghanistan lol
