but Riquelme wont play so i guess he is not an option anymore.

i think Cambiasso is injured. not sure though.

How Samuel cant make the team is a mystery.
Well, Riquelme quit because Maradona didn't rate him as a starter, which is weird because Maradona always said how amazing he was. Riquelme and Maradona haven't got on in awhile, since the 2006 WC I remember.

Cambiasso isn't rated by Maradona and nor is Samual..

I thought Riquelme quit because Maradona had criticised him when he was working as a pundit before he became Argentina coach?

Cambiasso isnt injured because he played in Inter's last game.

Its strange that himself and Samuel cant make the Argentina squad especially when they are regulars for Inter Milan.

Ivory Coast qualifed for the WC today as well

Bahrain and NZ drew 0-0 in the 1st leg of their play off. One of these teams will be in the WC

My Argentine side...

GK-Carizzo

Zanetti Samuel Demichells Insua

Mashcharno Cambiasso

Riquelme <3

Messi Militio Aguero

Actually that team may get ripped apart. They lack a balance.

I always wondered why they changed the Oceania side to face the Asian side, didn't it used to be the Asian v Europe? I remember Iran played R.Ireland once? 2-0 and 0-0...

And Australia always played Uruguay in the playoffs.

They changed it. It was unfair on Australia that they had to play South American opposition every time because they are a decent team but NZ are shit and they dont even care about soccer in that country. its all rugby. It might mean more to a country like Bahrain imo.

Bahrain missed out in 2006 in the playoffs. They played Trinidad. So would be nice if they qualify this time.

Pick your Argentine side Bobby!

this is almost the exact as what i was going to say except id have Aimar or Veron instead of Riquelme because Riquelme isnt available. or does that matter? Id leave Romero in goals. He is a good keeper. Id have Higuain or maybe Palermo instead of Milito. There is a young centre half from Velez Sarsfield who played quite well when i saw him play as well. cant think of his name.

Im not sure about the formation either though. wasnt that the way they played before Maradona took over?

If they play 4-4-2 it could be:

Romero

Zanetti.........Demechelis Samuel.........Insua

Mascherano

Gutierrez............................Maxi/Di Maria

Aimar/Veron/Lucho
.........................................Messi
.................................................................Aquero/Higuain/Tevez/Palermo/Milito/Lisandro Lopez/Crespo etc lol

They have so many forward players to accomodate though.

Even right at the very end of that match last night, the Peru player got clothslined in the box by Heinze i think. It was a clear penalty but the ref had blown for full time just before lol.

I forgot that Lavezzi is in the Argetnina squad as well. another forward player. Ortomendi is the young Velez Sarsfield defender i was referring to.

I am unsure about Militio upfront but they need a target man, and I'm even more unsure about Palermo...the guy is 35/36. They have sooooooo many strikers.

And yeah its a pick of everyone even if they aren't available. The Formation is a tough one because of the lack of balance in the squad.

Algeria is on the verge of qualifying. As long as they don't lose to Egypt by 3 goals in the next meeting, they're in.

I'm sure they're all going nuts since its been awhile lol
